“Habits are the compound interest of self-improvement.” ~ Atomic Habits James Clear
Fitness is:
Helping your body help you
Celebrating your physical abilities
Getting in touch with your strengths and weaknesses so you can be more well-rounded
Improving to reach your natural potential
Feeling healthy and strong
Fitness is not:
Hating your appearance
Punishing your body
Rejecting your naturally unique self
Conforming to an external standard
Basing your self-worth or identity on physical attributes, which may change outside of your control
Getting stronger means getting better at falling down. Joints that can withstand pressure, bones that are dense enough to withstand impact.
Strength isn't just about moving your body, it's about protecting it during worst case scenarios.
This is why building muscle is one of the most effective things you can do for your well being.
And remember building muscle does not require losing fat. You do not need to look tiny or toned to benefit from improving your muscle mass.
rest is part of the process, not a prize you get when you’ve finished everything. you don’t have to earn it first
