I feel like people donāt take Samus Aran seriously enough
okay okay, personal rant but it seems like people donāt take Samus seriously in gaming fandoms as a strong female lead
people either act like she is gooner bait, or they MAKE gooner bait material of her (I wonāt act like I donāt draw her looking hot but AT LEAST I give her muscles and try to make her look strong)
Samus is so much more than that and honestly I feel like she could fight most video game protagonists (female and men) and win
and then thereās the whole āMetroid is about motherhoodā sentiment
anyone who says this has clearly no understanding of Metroid as a franchise or Samusā character
sure some games do show Samusā compassion towards the baby, BUT I donāt think motherhood is a major theme in any Metroid game
it feels as though people are boiling down who Samus is as a character to fit their preconceived notions about her and women in general
I really think Samus Aran should be recognized on the level of Ellie Williams in the Last of Us Two or even Lara Croft, because she is and honestly I think she is stronger than both of them considering her Chozo DNA
and honestly thatās also why the whole motherhood thing pisses me off too because Ellie adopts JJ (for a bit) in the last of us two AND NO ONE was saying that game was about motherhood
itās just ridiculous, people need to put some respect on Samusā name
