“Oh, that’s right, that totally skipped my mind.” Celice admitted. “We should write them a letter as well.” But then he thought of something. “But that can wait, I want to rest and snuggle with the women I love so much.”

“That I can do.” Ethlyn snickered, transforming to stretch like a cat before reverting back to human form. “It’s been a long day, after all. And we’ll need some rest if we’re visiting everyone tomorrow.”

“Oh come on, I just found out today, you tease.” Ethlyn pouted, a bit of her old personality coming back. “I found out around early afternoon, so she should be born…I think 8 months from now? At least, that’s how I think I remember it.”

“Well, you never know, you could have been busy with other things.” Celice joked. “Man Yurius and Ishtar are going to be so excited. I wonder if they’ll risk coming here to see the baby.”

“And don’t forget Yuria and Aless.” Ethlyn replied to him. “But I don’t know what type of child they’ll have first. Major Naga, or...major Hezul. Plus, it’ll be interesting to see which parent they’ll look up to more.”

“She’ll definitely going to be major Baldur, because she’s our firstborn.” Ethlyn said to him. “Maybe minor Naga, because she’ll be part divine dragon like me. And I kinda doubt that any Loptyr blood will show up in her, unless…she gets some of the darkness that I have.”

“Even if she does, there’s no threat of her being controlled by Lopytr anytime soon, so we don’t have to worry about it.” Celice said glad that was the case. “So, how long has it been since you found out, so we can prepare for what month she’ll be born in?”

“I know, I was kinda surprised about that.” Ethlyn admitted. “You know…it kinda makes me wonder how she’ll get along with Yurius’s and Yuria’s kids. She’ll have both dragon blood and Crusader blood, so…I’m curoius on how she’ll be like.”

“Hm, that will be interesting. I doubt she’ll get any Naga blood, but she’s pretty much guaranteed at least minor Baldur.” Celice noted. “Plus whatever you have as a dragon and what minor traces of Loptyr I might have from my mother. She could be as strong as the Crusaders themselves. Hopefully she won’t have to be, but it’s possible.”

“Yes and yes.” Ethlyn giggled. “It’s a girl. I…just found out in the Twilight Realm, but…I still don’t know what to name her. Probably…because I have no experience as a mother.”

“Sorry, sorry, it’s just that I’m so excited.” Celice said calming down a bit. “I mean we’re going to be parents, that’s something I’ve always wanted to be. And I’m sure that we’ll get plenty of experience as we go along, especially since we’ll be working on it together.” He sighed. “A little baby girl, you know that’s kind of what I wanted.”

“I know, I was kinda surprised about that.” Ethlyn admitted. “You know...it kinda makes me wonder how she’ll get along with Yurius’s and Yuria’s kids. She’ll have both dragon blood and Crusader blood, so...I’m curoius on how she’ll be like.”

“Well…it is serious. I have good news…and bad news.” Ethlyn looked a bit nervous to say either one. “The bad news is…what’s been done to me all those years ago…it’s slowly killing me. I don’t know how much longer I’ll live, but…I definitely won’t live for thousands of years like my sister will.”

“However, the good news is…” Ethlyn then smiled a genuine smile. “I’m not the only person that I brought with me. The other, well…she’s right here.” She pointed at her stomach, to the little girl living within her.

Celice listened intently to Ethlyn’s words like he always did. Of course it saddened him, thinking about how eventually she wouldn’t be alive, but the good news outweighed that a thousandfold.

“Wait, you mean, I’m going to be, we’re going to be? Do you know what it is yet? How long have you known? What are we going to name it?” He started bubbling up with pride and love.

“Yes and yes.” Ethlyn giggled. “It’s a girl. I...just found out in the Twilight Realm, but...I still don’t know what to name her. Probably...because I have no experience as a mother.”

“…I…I see.” Ethlyn said to him. “I’ll go on and go see him, then.” So she went to her room, where she saw Celice writing the letter. She took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for their lives to change forever.

“…Celice?” She decided to say first. “I’m…I’m sorry that I was gone for a while. But…I found out some things that you need to know.”

“You’re back!” Celice said with a smile when Ethlyn came through the door. He quickly scooped her up in a hug and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Don’t worry about it, I know you like to travel, I’m just glad that you’re safe. I was just writing a letter to Yurius and now I can write whatever your news is too. Is it something serious, some more monsters popping up or such?”

“That is all you need. And know that we’ll be with you all the way, even if we’re not there in person.” Minerva assured her. “Live life while you can, and up to it’s fullest.”

Ethlyn nodded to her adoptive mother. “…I’ll go on and go.” She said to her and the others. “I’ll try to come back as soon as I can. But until then…farewell.” So she flew back to her home in the normal world, and spotted Oifey as she reappeared through a shadow.

“Oifey.” She said to catch his attention. “Is Celice nearby? I…have some big news for him.”

“Yes, come back when you can, we’ll have food ready next time.” Rutger said before Ethlyn flew off.

“Hm, I do believe he is in your room writing a letter to his half brother and Lady Ishtar.” Oifey answered, happy to see Ethlyn again. “He won’t say it, but he’s been waiting for you to come home for a while now.”

“...I...I see.” Ethlyn said to him. “I’ll go on and go see him, then.” So she went to her room, where she saw Celice writing the letter. She took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for their lives to change forever.

“...Celice?” She decided to say first. “I’m...I’m sorry that I was gone for a while. But...I found out some things that you need to know.”

“I know, I know…” Ethlyn sighed. “I guess I’m…scared to, honestly. I don’t know how much longer I’ll live because of this, so…I’m worried for him and our child.”

“Well, that gives you another reason to have a last peaceful moment of your life.” Minerva told Ethlyn as she got to to prepare to fly back to the normal world. “This child will be the first to have not just dragon blood, but Crusader blood, which holds blood from dragons of yore. So it’ll be interesting to see what her dragon form will look like.”

“Who knows, maybe thousands of years from now she’ll be a legend who helped save the world from evil, Like Naga.” Navarre postured.

“Or like the Eight Legends of Elibe.” Rutger added. “And believe me, your mother and I know all about being scared about having child. I was convinced I was going to be a horrible father. But I was proven wrong, twice. Three if we count both you and your younger self.”

“...I guess I’ll have to find out what I can on my own...while I still can.” Ethlyn guessed. “I know nothing about being a parent because well...you know. But I swear that I will try my hardest.”

“Well yeah, I can imagine that to be the case.” Ethlyn admitted. “Although, I gotta be honest…I do want to give birth at the Twilight Realm. Pretty ironic since it’s the place of both light and darkness, which she’ll likely have both of it in her blood. Celice’s light, and…my darkness.”

“Well…we can always hope that she doesn’t get the darkness at all.” Minerva said to assure her adoptive daughter. “After all, Celice has both Baldr and Naga blood but you’re also a divine dragon. Dark dragon you may formerly be, but you still hold the light of a divine dragon.”

“And you know Yurius and his parents do/did have Lopytr blood and they weren’t that bad.” Rutger added. “Without that stupid book Yurius would have been the nice guy we know him as now his entire life.”

“And Celice will probably have some more points in her favor as well.” Navarre added. “But seriously, you need to tell him.”

“I know, I know...” Ethlyn sighed. “I guess I’m...scared to, honestly. I don’t know how much longer I’ll live because of this, so...I’m worried for him and our child.”

“You can both train her, just one person at a time, apparently.” Ethlyn giggled. “But he doesn’t know, yet. I wanted to surprise you guys first before telling him.”

“Well, that’s a definite surprise.” Minerva admitted, with shock still in her eyes. “Well, I look forward to you bringing her here. I look forward to see what kind of woman she becomes…hopefully a lot like you.”

Rutger was happy that Ethlyn laughed a bit at the whole situation, it’s something that was needed in a time like this.

“Me too, I can’t wait to see her.” He said. “And, if you need help with the birth, you always have people here to help you.”

“You do know she probably has people in that castle she lives in right? Professionals probably?” Navarre joked slightly.

“…I don’t know.” Ethlyn said to her father’s shadow, recognizing what he was doing. “All I know is my lifespan is shortened, and I’ll spend what I can with my lover…and my daughter.”

“..?! Daughter?!” Minerva put a hand on Ethlyn’s stomach and sure enough, another life was there. “I…I don’t know what to say, Ethlyn..!” She happily and tightly hugged her adoptive daughter. She was saddened that her lifespan was cut short, but she was going to spend any minute that she could in the Twilight Realm with her future granddaughter.

Navarre gave Rutger a ‘stop bringing down the mood’ look before sitting down next to Ethlyn with a small but content smile on his face.

“I’m sure she’ll be just as pretty as you are.” He told her. “And another one in a long line of excellent swordmasters, under my tutelage of course.”

“Hey, she’s my granddaughter, I get first dibs on training her, after Celice of course if he wants too.” Rutger said sitting as well. “Have you told him yet?”

“You can both train her, just one person at a time, apparently.” Ethlyn giggled. “But he doesn’t know, yet. I wanted to surprise you guys first before telling him.”

Minerva immediately went over to her and helped her up, and her adoptive daughter nodded in thanks. “Anyway…all the stuff that has been done to me, and what got me to meet all of you…is slowly killing me. I’m not dying right now, but…I won’t live the long life of a dragon.”

“..! Ethlyn, I’m…I’m so sorry…” Minerva didn’t know what to say. But then suddenly Ethlyn grinned. “…? What’re you happy about?”

“Well, other than that…I found out about something else.” She told everyone. “Guys…you’re going to see another dragon around here soon. …Yep, I’m…I’m pregnant. Celice and I…have a daughter on the way.”

Rutger went to go support Ethlyn too, and he was really torn as to what to think. But he did what his father always told him to do when he was confused, ask questions.

“What do you mean by ‘won’t live the long life of a dragon?’ Will it be like Ninian who died in a few years, or will you have a normal human lifespan?” He asked, hoping it was the second option.

“...I don’t know.” Ethlyn said to her father’s shadow, recognizing what he was doing. “All I know is my lifespan is shortened, and I’ll spend what I can with my lover...and my daughter.”

“Oh, both good and bad news?” Fa asked as she came back with the others. She even managed to find the shadow Navarre, Minerva and Sigurd, which were almost impossible to run into intentionally. “Well…which one do you want to tell us first?”

“I…well…” Now Ethlyn was completely nervous. She never liked being at the center of attention, but this was like she forced int the spotlight.

“Hey, don’t be nervous, you can tell us anything.” Sigurd told Ethlyn.

“And you know we can handle hard news, we’ve all been through that.” Navarre added. “And we’ll be with you the entire way.”

“Do you need a drink?” Rutger asked because she coughed.

“...Well, I guess I should start with the bad first.” Ethlyn said before she suddenly started to cough again and she had to get down on one of her knees. Minerva immediately went over to her and helped her up, and her adoptive daughter nodded in thanks. “Anyway...all the stuff that has been done to me, and what got me to meet all of you...is slowly killing me. I’m not dying right now, but...I won’t live the long life of a dragon.”

“..! Ethlyn, I’m...I’m so sorry...” Minerva didn’t know what to say. But then suddenly Ethlyn grinned. “...? What’re you happy about?”

“It’s alright, Ethlyn.” The shadow Fa giggled. “I know how close you and Minerva are, enough that you call her your mother. And the same goes for the younger you and Sigurd, calling him her papa. Here, I’ll go and gather what people I can.” She said as she went to her giant divine dragon form, which was still beautiful even as a shadow.

As Fa went off to gather the others, Rutger sat down and invited Ethlyn to do so as well.

“You seem nervous.” He noted. “That’s very unlike you as of late. Is this that important that you’re worried about how we’ll take it?”

“...Well, sort of.” Ethlyn admitted, but then she suddenly let out a few weak coughs. “Because there’s amazing news...then horrible news.”

“Did you hear that, I think that was Ethlyn.” Rutger said to Fa as he heard someone call out for their parents. “I sure hope so.” So they went outside and sure enough it was Ethlyn. “Ethlyn, nice of you to stop by, you don’t need us to fight anything do you?” Even Shadow Rutger was tired of fighting things.

“No...not this time.” Ethlyn told the shadows. “I have some major news, but I want to gather up everyone first. Including...Sigurd and M-....uhhh...”
