âI⊠i donât really know how to tell you this. Itâs kind of silly because I canât really say much. But, I kinda told this guy⊠something that maybe I shouldnât have. Something i normally donât tell anyone. And Iâm kind of starting to think that maybe I shouldnât have and I donât know what to do.â
Elsa didnât exactly have the experience probably needed to help Rapunzel in this situation, especially considering her romantic life was non existent and would no doubt stay as such. Though what she lacked for in topical knowledge, she held in her level headed nature and of course compassion for others. So she offered a small smile and quirked of a brow as she asked her cousin: âCan I ask what you told him?âÂ

This time of year was always hard. The anniversary of their parents passing had been recent and tension was high as it always seemed to be in the Arnadalr residence. Anna was growing stressed because of the wedding, her sisterâs disapproval, and her attitude towards the time of year. She needed Elsa more than ever and had never felt so far away. That wasnât true; she always felt far away from Elsa.
When she noticed her sister had left the sanctuary of her room, Anna had looked at her in shock. âI didnât think Iâd ever see you again.â
âAnna-â Elsa spoke a shaky breath falling off her features as her hands automatically tightened closer to her own body in the presence of Anna. But especially more so now. Her powers were always more erratic around this time of year for good reason, her emotions rung high so it was only fitting her powers were even more unsteady.Â
Sheâd locked herself in her room for- days now. Her room having turned itself into a theoretical âice castleâ as she isolated herself as far away from humanity as she possibly good. As much as she wanted to be with Anna in this trying time so they could comfort and support each other- it was never an option. Risking someone wasnât something Elsa could justify, especially Anna. Thatâs probably why her features sunk and fingers trembled slightly at the sight of her sister. It shouldnât have been a surprise, she lived here too. But still the defensive questions left her lips before she could stop them: âWhat are you doing here? I thought you were with Hans?â

âTarzan, yes,â he said with a nod as he looked at Elsa. The girl at least remembered him, but he was also someone hard to forget. With how tall and quite different he was from anyone else. Just his accent alone was enough. âI guess you do not need an umbrella any longer, no more rain,â he said with a chuckle. âHow have you been lately?â
It had been a long day, probably too long. With how many meetings sheâd been going from and back to, it was no surprise was it really? But as soon as he uttered the name, her memory fully set in and she gave a nod of recognition. âOf course yes - Tarzan. No thankfully itâs a beautiful day. That was still very kind of you before.â It wasnât often you met a stranger so willing to help like he had been. âIâve been okay thank you, busy. And yourself?â
fixerxupper
âIt is Kristoff.â He replied, nodding gently. He was surprised that she had managed to get his name right. Not a lot of people did. Even people that heâd met before managed to somehow screw up his name in some way or another. âAnd youâre Elsa, right?â He questioned, hoping that heâd gotten the name right and the person right. He looked around for a moment. âThatâs alright, Iâm sure one of them will turn up sooner or later. I can hang around if you donât mind.â
A part of her wanted to stay that she did mind, because in truth all the blonde Duchess wanted to do was lock herself in her room with a hot chocolate, her pajamas and star wars. Unfortunately for her, her plans for an evening of solitude would have to wait. He seemed like a nice enough person; well didnât he have to be to be friends with Rapunzel and Anna? So she forced a her usual soft smile and gave a single nod. She doubted Anna would be long - atleast she hoped - besides it was her apartment too. âOf course.â Elsa offered simply as she moved to unlock the door and slip inside. âDo you want a drink?â
tarzanmbassi
It wasnât the first time that Tarzan found himself staring at the display of a store. More than once ending up completely fascinated by the objects inside, mostly because he always discovered something he hadnât seen before in his life. That was until he heard someone talking to him, tilting his head as he thought for a second before he recognized Elsa. âOh yeah! I helped you with my umbrella when it was raining once,â he said with a chuckle. âElsa, right?â
As soon as he reiterated their past encounter, recollection past over Elsaâs features as a quite âohhâ past from her lips. âOf course-â The blonde spoke, the two having clicked together as she offered the male a soft smile and nod. Not wanting to seem rude for not having connected the two prior. âYes Elsa and itâs-â She paused racking her brain for an answer, her voice a little skeptical as she asked: â- Tarzan?â
a touch of ice
3:45am, 14/02, outside NYC
It was dark, pitch black with only the moon light offering some form of reflection on the scene that lay before Elsa. Sheâd made sure it was desolate. Not wanting anyone close enough to see or worse get hurt by what she was about to do. It was a risk she knew that. But could she really keep living like this? Pushing everything and everyone away to protect them from herself? Maybe if she could control it enough, allow it this chance she could push it down more. Enough that she didnât have to feel so afraid. That she didnât have to feel so alone.Â
Straightening, the duchess swallowed thickly as she pulled the gloves off her shaking finger tips and put them quickly in her coat pocket.Â
She didnât know what it would acheived. In some hopes, Elsa thought that maybe if she tried; willed it enough it would some how force it back into itâs box. Tie it down and lock it away like she had for so many years. That maybe if for once, she could let it slip, it would allow her to control it. Isolate it along with herself in some hope that it could minimize the damage to everyone else, even if it left her hollow and alone. Because wasnât that better? Hadnât she wanted this? To be alone?Â
No. She hadnât. For all that it was worth, the Duchess wanted to belong. To fit in and be normal. As if some how if she could just fade into the shadows, then that would be okay because atleast sheâd be there. That would be something. She didnât want to be alone. But she didnât have a choice. Wasnât it her parents that told her that was the way she had to live? To conceal it. To hide. To bring up the facade that everything was fine, that was she fine, it was all- .. fine. Ironic wasnât it, that two of the people she admired and loved most in the world had suggested something that made her feel like she was a monster people needed to be protected from. That Anna needed to be protected from.
Wasnât she? A monster? Because what power did she have to control it? To stop it?Â
âWait no-â Elsa uttered, eyes widening with fear as she pulled her hands back quickly before sheâd even had a chance to try, palming clinging tightly to her heavily rising chest. As it if it could stop them from breaking anything else, as if it could stop her. The last time sheâd done this- Anna had payed the price for it. How could she even think this was a good idea? Blinking back the tears of frustration that risked to fall from her eyes, the blonde let out a shaky breath as she fumbled in her coat to pull out her gloves. Finger tips trembling as the ice crystals formed a small pattern on the tips of her fingers. âNo, no no no-â She mumbled quickly pulling one glove on. But just before she was about to pull the other, a gush of wind swept through around her stealing the glove and carrying it up and out of sight into the dark night. âNo- come back-!â Her voice a trembling plea. Gloved hand enveloping her bare one as if that could some how make her feel more secure. That it could protect the world from the cold chill she could feel running over her skin.Â
âDonât feel- control it- donât feel.. donât feel..â Elsa uttered to herself, features pinched with worry, her breath feeling like it was caught tightly in her chest. Maybe she would have got it together. Maybe everything would have been fine. It was the middle of the night, too late for anyone to still be around and just early enough for even the earliest risers to still be asleep. Maybe. But there was the crackling of earth under someones foot pinching at her ears like an alarm that had a lump forming in the back of her throat. There is was again.
Her hand was moving for some warning, to ask them to leave or stay as far away back as they could get. But there was another crunch of a footstep. Before she even had a chance to think, her non gloved hand moved out, as if some how to hands could plea them to stay where they were. But her powers had other ideas. With a small hand movement, the magic had sprung, creating spikes of ice just in front of the shadowed figure. For a woman so elegant and almost soft, there was a harshness to her powers that made Elsa so crippled with fear. They were dangerous, she was dangerous. The sight before her eyes was enough validation of that.Â
She didnât wait to hear what the unknown figure said, she was turning and bolting before her ears even had a chance to hear. They wouldnât have seen her, they couldnât have seen her. It was too dark, if she couldnât see them, how could they have seen her face? Right? Her hand clinging tightly to her chest to stop herself from doing anymore damage, Elsa fled from the scene. Cursing herself for evening thinking trying to understand her powers was a good idea, how could she have been so reckless. What if someone had seen? What if someone knew?Â
She couldnât breathe. There had to be more to life than this. She was more than this. Elsa wasnât an ice queen. She was warm, kind, caring. There was so much she wanted to give and be but how could she even dare when this was her reality? Left defeated and crumbling, features scrunched as she tried to will away the tears that threatened to fall down her pale cheeks.
Pull yourself together Elsa. Conceal it. Donât feel.Â
Donât feel.Â

Anna was thinking about things. She hadnât stopped thinking about it since it happened. And yet Elsa still didnât seem to understand that. She was approaching Anna as if she was a child who needed to be handled with care. And she wasnât. If Elsa was angry, she wanted to see her get angry at her. âIâm not getting married tomorrow, Elsa. We are drawing out the engagement for now. I want everything to be perfect. Like the fairy tale wedding Iâve always dreamed of. He cares about what I want and we both are trying to be smart about this. All I want is your blessing. I want you to be happy for us. Is that really asking for a lot?â
As Anna continued, Elsaâs expression turned placid, brows furrowed slightly as her eyes flickered over her sisterâs expression. Trying to some how understand what the woman was thinking, how could any aspect of this really be what she wanted. But there it was, the fairy tale. It had âlove at first sightâ written all over it, but that type of flittering romance belonged in just what it had been pulled out of. Stories, fantasies, dreams. The reality was alot colder, the last thing Elsa wanted was to hurt Anna; but she feared that staying with this âHansâ would hurt her more. âIf you were trying to be smart about this, you wouldnât have gotten engaged to a man youâve known for less than a month.â Her words were a little blunt in truth, but her soft tone hadnât gotten them anywhere this far. âYou asked for my blessing but the answer is still no. I want you to be happy, but I wonât stand by this decision. Anna- Iâm just trying to protect you.â
She recognized his face, Elsa was good with faces even if it was a brief familiarity; she knew the pair had met previously. Besides Elsa didnât talk to too many people, she kept to herself more often than not; which granted made it easier to pick those she did converse with out in a crowd. Sheâd obviously been looking at him that little bit too long as he turned around, Elsa shook her head once as she shifted her eyes. âOh no- Iâm sorry I was trying- this probably sounds ridiculous, but have we met before?â @tarzanmbassi

Toulouse shook his head, getting comfortable on the seat. âNo, no itâs okay,â He said before looking back to her. âShe just said that theyâd had a connection immediately, and that heâs the love of her life. She sounds completely head over heels for the guy which,â He snorted. âAs we both know, is ridiculous.â Toulouse sighed. âIâve mentioned my concerns to her, definitely,â The redhead nodded firmly with a light frown on his face. âUnderstandably nothing Iâm saying is getting through to her right now though.â He paused. The frustration clear on his face, Toulouse ran a hand through her hair. âItâs just very difficult. I have faith that sheâll click eventually. Sheâs got a far too good heart but sheâs not stupid. Itâs just a case of â Hoping she realises before this gets too far along.â
Elsa couldnât help the light roll of her eyes at the mention of âlove of her lifeâ followed with the muttered: âYou canât love someone youâve known for a month.â With a single shake of her head, the duchessâs jaw tightening slightly as she shifted where she sat. âShe didnât listen to me either.â The blonde spoke simply, preferring to side pass the details of the conversation sheâd had with Anna. It didnât end well. âAnna is the most caring person I know. She- .. canât be pushed away easily, I know. Her will is alot stronger than youâre giving her credit for. She is stubborn, if we discourage it more sheâll only cling to him harder.â Pausing, her expression sunk slightly as she tried to come up with some kind of solution that wouldnât hurt her sister; that was the last thing she wanted to happen. âTheyâre engaged, it has already gone too far. At the moment, we just need to look out for her, sheâll need her friends now more than anything else.âÂ
