ren and vianca are meant to be exact parallels of each other. ren is a character who does not act friendly with girls, and vianca is a character who does not act friendly with boys.
so why is it that the former is receiving praise while the latter is receiving backlash?
mind you, vianca is a character that is barely out to the public. yet there are already comments such as:

its very obvious. this fandom, despite being more open-minded than others, is incredibly male-centered. this is the reason for qiu's nonbinary identity being erased, tamarack being set aside as "the fat funny friend", people already fixating on baxter despite him having a small role, and vianca being villainized despite only having mentions in the q&a and a brief description of her character being out for the public.
mind you, this girl never acts out against male mcs or male characters. she simply doesn't care about them. but apparently, that's enough to guarantee harsh comments?
you guys don't know how to act properly. you are so entitled to female characters that you feel offended that this girl wouldn't interact with you if you're guy
