ichigo remembering even the tiniest details like orihime's pins or her new shirt, ichigo stopping mid-fight to check in on orihime, ichigo always remembering her trauma and always treating it with the utmost sensitivity even when it hurts him, ichigo stopping grimmjow's attack without even looking at him because he's so happy orihime called out to him, ichigo feeling pride whenever orihime expresses her sincere feelings for him, ichigo growing out of that coddling/sidelining mentality so they can fight as partners and equals, ichigo waiting till he's financially stable to ask orihime out–

I was going through the manga screencapping Nnoitra’s battle with Kenpachi for a request, and I noticed this panel of Orihime basically protecting Yachiru WHILE healing Ichigo at the same time, and all the time standing there alone unprotected.

Panels like this get overlooked in favor of endless ‘Orihime-bashing’ and “Orihime is useless!’ claims and frankly they’re wrong.

I love how Ichigo and Chad are concerned about Orihime here, and how Chad understands his two friends well. Chad is well aware of how Ichigo and Orihime care for each other, as shown in his monologue that he knows Orihime doesn’t want Ichigo to get involved in her issues because he might get hurt trying to protect her again.

I think Ichigo is also aware that Orihime and Chad might be keeping secrets from him for his sake, and he’s troubled not because they’re hiding things, but because he is worried for his friends and feels frustrated that he can’t do anything to help. Typical Ichigo ^^;

I’ve always liked the Ichigo/Chad/Orihime friendship because there’s just so much gentleness, care, loyalty, support and understanding between them, and it’s a nice change to see Ichigo not acting out a tough-love persona (which is the usual dynamic between him and his other friends). It’s sad that their friendship is severely under-appreciated though :(

I love the startled, wide-eyed look Ichigo gives Orihime whenever she is around him. His tough-guy persona is replaced with a soft, gentle personality. You see a side of him that you don't see with anybody else other than Orihime. This is why I feel that the Ichihime pairing is not one-sided. I feel that Ichigo had feelings for Orihime. He just didn't realize it at the time they were teens. But he's actions clearly shows he felt something romantic with her.

Ichigo has feelings from the very start. Yes, he didn't quite realized it yet but the gravity pulling them towards each other has always been there. She is partly the reason why he accepted his role from rukia's plea, he knows her well though at 1st he said he didnt, he listens to her, treats her seriously and mind you, literally even inoue doesn't treat herself seriously most of the time. Contrary to some, she is a strong woman. After All what she went through, she survived and has her ways but ichigo felt the need to protect her but it was never familial , it was more of equals. He sees her as special all throughout the series. From his gestures, his tone, his face and his gosh, his words. Everytime he says "are you alright? ", it melts my heart the sincerity in it. He sees himself in her and wants to protect her at all cost. They wore different uniforms but they both want and believe in the same things. Orihime is well loved by all and respected by all. He adores her and fell for her. A guy who doesn't want a girl to cry, is a romantic gesture. They are not family. Yes, friends but friends that turned into lovers. That us the best foundation. 👀🔥❤️

It still confuses me a lot how people really thought, that Ichihime wouldn't be endgame. Orihime's feelings were shown at a very early stage of the story and later developed into real love. Just the scene of her saying goodbye to Ichigo when she was allowed to do so to only one person and she really chose him over Tatsuki. And Kubo never forgot to remind us throughout the whole story that she genuinely loved him, that even when brainwashed her feelings wouldn't go away. But also the way how Ichigo acted towards her were such obvious signs to me that Kubo would never throw away all those hints at the end of the story. And still the fandom was such a mess back then. I'm happy that the outcome was so satisfying. :)

I sometimes think about the good old times and the huge ship wars in the fandom and how I never even imagined that there would be any ship for Ichigo but Orihime. The way Kubo early on hints at Orihime's feelings and the way how Ichigo treats her way differently than anyone else were huge indicators to me that if at all Ichigo ended up with someone, it would be Orihime. Up to this day, I still can't believe how the fandom acted in regards to them, although in my opinion their story is one of the best developed in the shonen genre.

One thing I like about Kubo is that he knows how to express emotions with body language. A great example is Orihime’s confession scene in Chapter 237, where we can gauge Orihime’s feelings from just her hands alone — a longing touch, a hesitant squeeze, and a nervous grip.

For all of Kubo’s declarations that he doesn’t want to focus on romance in Bleach, the very few moments where he does show it we get powerful scenes like this. Methinks he should do more romance ;>

When I was younger I disliked the scene of Orihime trying to kiss Ichigo while he slept. But now I actually love it and it makes me feel fuzzy when I read it as I understand it better. That girl was only 15 and thought she was going to die so she wanted to do one last thing before that and that was kiss the boy she always loved, the boy she wanted to spend 5 lifetimes with. Even talking about it, makes me love the scene so much more. Ichihime are my comfort couple and I just love every scene of them!
