He needed a moment to catch his breath, for his groggy mind and blurry vision to clear, just to comprehend what was going on and who he was talking to.

…Either he’s still dreaming or it really was who he thought it was. It wasn’t hard to recognize the other. “I-Ichiro Yamada?” He spoke, blinking twice. Right here, right now? Questions popped in his head, but Ichiro had beat him to it.

“Ah…” He began. “I must have fallen asleep here, just to continue working in my dreams. What a mess. And now I’ve missed the late train for sure. Haa… I’m a born loser. I can’t do anything right. I just… just……” Doppo droned on in his habitual muttering.

This really was the worst possible of things that could have happened, but it left Ichiro no other choice but to deal with it to the best of his possibilities. He nodded, grabbed a chair and set down on it with legs spread and his arms crossed on the backrest. His expression softened the more the other one spoke, there wasn’t much he could do against his pessimism anyways.

“I think it’s impressive that you are so into your work that you even dream about it. But take a rest occasionally, will you?” His voice was low, the words just meant as a carefully phrased good advice. “I can keep you company if you wanna lie down here for a proper nap, and after that we can figure out how to get you home. Sounds like a plan?”
