LUX HARMON / CIRCE. there's a room where the light won't find you, holding hands while the walls come tumbling down. when they do, I'll be right behind you. so glad we've almost made it, so sad they had to fade it. everybody wants to rule the world.
âIâll give you ten dollars if you can guess which hand the money is in.â Ben waved a crinkly ten dollar bill in front of him, grinning. âBut you owe me just one dollar if you lose. Wanna play?â
â â donât you ever get tired of this mundane life? â he canât imagine how anyone could just â settle for this dull lifestyle. well, other than the ones who clearly got the short end of the stick during their past lives. Â
âif your life is so mundane, youâre doing something wrong. whatâs the alternative, going back to olympus ? itâs been thousands of years, clearly thatâs not an option.â
Lux sits in the God Club lounge, a book of wild animals from Africa sits on her lap. Beside her are other books, all with animals located on different continents. âIf a hamster was not a hamster and was, say --â she doesnât look up as she starts talking but had spotted the person from the corner of her eye, â -- a much larger, more wild one, which animal would it be ? â
âCan I maybe used your phone to google how to fix a leaky roof? I havenât paid my phone bill so I canât really use it and thereâs gonna be rain soon and I donât really wanna come home to a bunch of kids using the beds as canoes and shit.â
âI donât own a cell phone. If I did people would try to contact me and I really didnât move out to the middle of nowhere to still be in reach of human contact. Arenât pay phones still a thing? Thereâs a phone in the shop but I donât know you enough to care enough to unlock it again.â
to say that thorne was in a bad mood was a slight understatement. sure he got hit by a car but there wasnât any damage to the nissanâs body so he didnât understand why he couldnât just go. sitting cross-armed in the street, he huffed, much like an oversized toddler when a shadow loomed over him. âbefore you ask, yeah, i looked both ways before crossing the street. i looked both handsome and radiant, too bad i still got hit by that car.â
lux had only been in the city for work and was about to cross the street after closing up when she witnessed a familiar face -- getting hit by a car. this was going to be the highlight to her day. sheâs quick to run over and join the onlookers, barely containing a laugh. âwere you crossing the street with a mirror ? oh, wait, let me guess, it was jay-walking, wasnât it ?â
[ KACEY ROHL. CISFEMALE. SHE/HER. ] LUX HARMON aka CIRCE has been a member of the God Club for FIVE YEARS. This time around they are TWENTY-SIX years old and a HERBALIST. They ARE NOT devoted to returning to Olympus because THE GODS DESERVE TO SUFFER. Currently they only possess the power of TRANSMUTATION.
hi itâs kat again and i still donât fucking spellcheck
my interpretation of circe is primarily based off of the book by madeline miller
circe
sheâs the goddess of sorcery but also specializes in transmutation, illusion and necromancy
she was banished to the island of aeaea due to zeus fearing her power bc she was out there turning men into gods and nymphs into hideous sea creatures
she learned to go magic and became one with the island
she liked to turn men into pigs and then kill them
odysseus was the only one who beat her with the help of hermes. the two had a son together
she just wanted to be alone but parents kept sending their nymph children who were rebellious to her
lux
prior to becoming reborn she felt very out of place, unwanted and unloved by her parents
her life didnât really start until she became twenty-one
she remembers most of her past life and itâs made her quite bitter, a contrast to the quiet, timid girl she used to be
she joined the god club right away, but only to sabotage and watch the gods fall apart
as much as she hates only having a quarter of her magic, she can live with it if it means the gods never get to be at full power either
she doesnât live in new york city, instead living away from the city and other people. she has a large property, most of which is covered in plants of various species and abilites
sheâs a herbalist whose shop is located in new york city
lux has never read a god club newsletter in her life
she may or may not have murdered one or two or more men who honestly deserved it
unclear which of the animals she owns are actually animals
