🧠 - What is the coolest headcanon or worldbuilding you have seen on Rotomblr? Do you consider it canon in your world?
@ichowan <- these people. I love everything they are doing. They made a language. WHAT? EXCUSE ME YOU MADE A LANGUAGE??? Absolutely feral go off you funky folk.
I incorperate parts of it into my other blog @prettyskitty973 since Thomas is a descendant of the Diamond Clan, and then some but some if it clashes with how intelligent i believe pokemon to be. Either way it is canon in Honey's world as well since she does exist in the same one as Thomas.
// oh my god i never saw the notifcation thank youuu. the language is constantly evolving so if someone needs a word they can ask me and i can work on making one!!

December 21st, 2023 - Diya no Yaru (Holiday)
Ichowan holiday for the shortest day of the year. They believe that if you go outside on this day, you will become a ghost. Observed by staying inside all day, ESPECIALLY at night, and praying that you will not be taken in your sleep. Offerings of raw meat may be left outside the front and/or back door.
Sinnohans are most likely to observe this holiday, as it is their heritage. Tag posts with "diya no yaru" to be seen! @ichowan may reblog posts - you can ask them in character things or subwayjoltik ooc
.
Forgot to mention: on this day, reflective surfaces are typically covered up or hidden!! you would want to keep a phone face down and turn it on before picking it up. we don't want that pesky giratina coming through!
oh shit tomorrow is diya no yaru
What's that?
simply put, it's the shortest day of the year.
in the Junpāku no Tōuda they don't even see the sun rise higher than the cliffs. the ichowans believed that this was the day that it was easiest for ghosts to steal life, due to the whole gengar and shadows thing. because of this it's also believed to be, outside of Fuebīya, the day that is easiest for Kaijū no Gyasari to come to our dimension.
so people stay inside and cover as many reflective surfaces as they can.

So what exactly is zuna no toredia all about?
lilligant, mostly. usually a female-based holiday but like. anyone can participate.
day 1's all about planning the festivities. lilligant's warden chooses some helpers and they camp at her arena. modernly people also spend this day honoring the wardens (why you have to be nice to ingo)
day 2 is a lot of harvesting personal plants (all the fields would be done by then) and fasting. only supposed to eat vegan food at night too. of course, if you cant fast or sustain on vegan food you just eat normally (i always get asked about that)
day 3 people bring offerings to the arena to be blessed with any form of fertility. and people eat vegan in the day.
October 30th - November 1st: Zuna no Toredia
Another ichowan (older than PLA) holiday. it's about farming and considered mainly rooted in females but anyone can participate. it honors Liligant (toredia)
30th: Jun Diya (Warden's Day) - A day of planning, the Warden of Toredia selects two women to be in charge of the festivities with her, and the three pitch tents by Toredia’s Arena, where they will stay for the entirety of the event. In modern times people also will do various things to honor the wardens of old.
31st: Uniki Posuna - i don't expect a lot of people to participate in this one since it's also halloween but traditionally women fasted and harvested seeds and flowers. At night, only vegan meals were to be had. Modernly, people tend to only fast and then eat a vegan or vegetarian dinner. if someone can't fast, they must eat vegan. if they can't eat vegan, they try vegetarian, or if not that either, pescatarian.
1st: Shinzuna - Traditionally participants would bring offerings of seeds and leave them by Toredia’s arena, to be blessed with fertility. No longer fasting, however a vegan diet is required during the day.

Favorite myth? Bonus points if it’s not the main one!
Is it too stereotypical if I say a myth about the Noble Sneasler? I've told it before. I apologize if it is a long story!
Once, there was a child. He was young, and he wandered away from the settlement in search of his parents. The elders told him that they were far away, beneath the ground, so he thought he might find them if he too went far away and beneath the ground. He traveled south, from the icelands to the highlands, where there was much ground to be found.
"Where are you going?" asked the Noble Sneasler. "This is not where your home is. It is not an easy life in the icelands, but even I know that humans are safer in packs."
"I want to find my parents," replied the child. "Everyone tells me that they are gone. They are beneath the ground, and so they must be beneath Mount Coronet, for that is where there is the most ground. If I can get under the mountain, perhaps I will find my parents."
The Noble Sneasler nodded. "You are right, shining child. There is much ground here. We shall cover it together- follow me, and I will dig below the cliffs, rather than climbing them."
Even with sharp claws and toxin, it took the Noble Sneasler many days to dig even a small cave into the mountain. "Have we found your parents?" asked Sneasler, but the boy shook his head, and so the Noble Sneasler kept digging.
"Have we found them now?" asked the Noble Sneasler, but again, the boy shook his head. And so the Noble Sneasler kept digging. Again and again this continued, until both Noble Sneasler and the boy lost count. All that they knew was the darkness of the Wayward Cave they dug.
At last, the Noble Sneasler saw sunlight, coming from the passage it had carved through the mountain. "Surely we must have found your parents by now?" the Noble Sneasler asked, but the boy shook his head once more, weeping rivers of tears down his face. With careful paws, the Noble Sneasler wiped these tears away, and they soaked into their claws, stronger than the poison it already made- these bitter tears allow Sneasler now to paralyze its foes, as sorrow may paralyze us, or to make its opponents drowsy, as we may sleep to avoid sorrow.
"My parents are not here. You have dug a hundred tunnels, but they are still not here. Where are they?" the boy asked, still held by the Noble Sneasler.
"I do not know, but I will always seek them. For now, you may hold their memory with you, and return to your clan. Let the burden of seeking that which is lost rest on me, while you live your life. I will bring it to you, if I find it, but even that which is lost does not wish for company in being wayward. It wishes only to be found, and that burden is too great for anyone but me to dedicate a life to. I am strong enough to dig these tunnels and scale these cliffs, so allow me to bear this as well- I will find these lost things, and I will bring them to those who yearn for them."
Wiping his face and standing straight, the boy nodded. "Yes, Noble Sneasler. I am grateful for what you have done for me. I would like to go home now- however, I am afraid that in my absence, I too have become lost. My family does not know where I am, and neither do I. How can I go home now? I hoped that my parents would show me the way, but we did not find them."
And so, for the first time, the Noble Sneasler gathered a child into its arms to return them. "I will show you to your home," it said, and held the child close as it returned to the Pearl Clan Settlement with him. He had been missing for so long, there was no room for anger- only joy that he was back.
Everyone celebrated his return, for they worried about this wayward child, and they offered him his favorite meals if he promised to never scare them this way again, but he insisted that he did not need them. "I only wish to eat bean stew with the Noble Sneasler- it is their favorite. They will need the energy to seek what has been lost, both above and beneath the earth. Think not of me, whose burden has been lifted, but of the Noble Sneasler, who has taken it from all of us. We must show our gratitude! Prepare a bean stew, and tell the Noble Sneasler what you miss! Let it be found by them, and let us live our lives."
To honor the boy's words, the clan agreed- the Noble Sneasler must be rewarded for its efforts, even if they had not yet borne fruit. This is why beans are gathered, and then prepared into a stew- to find what has been lost, we must nourish the one who seeks it.

Choi Ōnyūria!
Choi Diya no Fujiro!
Obviously, for most people, the celebration of today will be different from the traditional form- many of us do not have fields full of beans to harvest. However, we can still keep Lady Sneasler in our hearts as we gather the beans to make her an offering tomorrow!
I would like to prepare everyone for tomorrow by sharing one of my favorite recipes to make for Ōnyūria! It's a simple plump bean cake that Lady Sneasler and her Sneaslets all very much enjoyed :)
Ingredients:
A cup of plump bean flour (this is easy to make- simply dry your beans, roast them, and then grind them!)
Seven spoonfuls of honey.
Four eggs.
Two spoons of some neutral oil.
Optional, sesame seeds!
Instructions:
Beat the eggs until fluffy, mixing the honey into them as you go.
Add the bean flour, mixing this in entirely.
Add your oil and mix this in as well.
Move this mixture into whatever pan you will be using for baking.
If you choose to add sesame seeds, sprinkle these on top.
Bake it at a medium heat for a little over a half an hour. Just check it to see when it is done.
This makes a large cake- enough to share with Lady Sneasler, her children, and some leftover for yourself to share. Please enjoy. Ōnyūra-nispa chiepungine :)
good morning everyone. It's the beginning of Dimasa (fall), which means today is the day beans are on sale all through sinnoh. make sure to pick up beans or harvest any if you grow them!
New word I've added to my documentation:

I was actually wondering why my kid didn’t post anything about Yaru no Aiyōbu so I came in their hotel room and see this
August 16 - Diya no Peri...
...I think I'll just let the video speak for itself.
[Rather than an image, a short video is attached.]
[Video ID: The video opens on a battle between Gym Leader Fantina and a gym challenger. They are each down to their last Pokemon: Fantina her Mismagius and the challenger their Machoke. The ghost attempts to finish her opponent with one final Shadow Ball... only for Machoke to use Protect. Shadows slam against the barrier, flooding the arena in darkness.]
[The tension is thick. It seems as if Fantina will win - the Protect will not last forever, and Machoke is at a disadvantage. Mismagius prepares to fire off another attack--]
[--but she is intercepted by Machoke's Knock Off, swiftly KO'ing her using her own held Sitrus Berry.]
[The crowd goes wild with cheers. The camera jolts to Troy's group, who are collectively loosing it. A cacophony of voices can be heard: "...I can't believe the kid actually did it!" "Take that, you fighting-type deniers! Serves you RIGHT!" "Please tell me you got that on film, T!"]
[But even with all the noise... you can still hear quiet, yet joyful laughter coming from the cameraperson themselves.]
August 15 - Diya no Danai...
...And today is a bittersweet one. I have no family here in Sinnoh. Every time I pass by a parent and child, a pair of siblings, grandparents, cousins - it is a reminder of who I left behind in Johto.
...I miss my family. So, so very much.
That's why I've stressed so much over getting them a gift. I can't share a meal with them, but I can share my love. So... I hope this reaches you all soon.
[An image is attached.]
[Image ID: A cardboard box sits on a table, sealed shut with packaging tape. What sets it apart from a standard shipment box are the gold and purple ribbons that tie around the box and into a decorative bow. It's apparent that this is a gift, but its contents cannot be determined.]
