Ever thought about how BTS' career is progressing similarly to Big Bang's

Now, I’m not trying to compare or say one is better than the other. Just hear me out:

Both groups debuted with a hip hop concept before completely changing their concept and rapidly increasing in their popularity. Both groups have portions of the fandom who whine incessantly about how they wish the group would return to their old concert. HYYH is BTS’ Haru Haru with I Need U and Haru Haru both being as @jiyongshairbleach put it: on the more melodic electro pop side. Moreover, BS&T, much like Tonight, is the “a bit trend riding rap heavy electro pop song”. Sure, it isn’t a perfect fit, considering that BTS isn’t likely to get the “carted off to Japan for two years” treatment like Big Bang (“the OG “carted off to Japan” YG group” - @jiyongshairbleach).

Huh, if history is to repeat itself, I predict that in 2018, Rap Monster will get involved in a drug scandal and J Hope will get involved in a motor vehicle accident resulting in a civilian casualty.

Netizens will hold both of these incidents against them calling the former an addict and the latter a murderer. Meanwhile, salty fans will point to these incidents as proof of BTS “copying” Big Bang.

So we have that to look forward to…

This is honestly not even that far off as we near the end of 2018. Neither Joonie nor J-hope have been in any scandals but BTS have experienced Big Bang’s 2012 boom in popularity in 2017, (”Fantastic Baby,” Alive album). Every rapper has released a solo album in 2016-2018 (which mirrors BB’s 2012-2014 solo album years of Coup d’Etat, Let’s Talk About Love, Doom Dada, Rise). Instead of getting carted off to Japan, BTS are officially carted off to America. Fans are calling them “not kpop” just like entitled VIPs liked to believe that Big Bang was the “””I”M SO TALENTED I WRITE MY OWN SONGS AND JIYONG IS A MUSICAL GENIUS””” group. Despite the lack of scandals, people still hate on BTS to the nth degree, meaning that despite being a popular group Namjoon and J-hope may as well be racist pot-smoking murderers (this is not to imply that any of Big Bang are racist pot-smoking murderers). We have “DNA,” which is basically a modern-day Fantastic Baby, then there’s “Fake Love” i.e. “Blue” but not as good as “Blue,” which is very amazing. Not to mention “Idol,” which…. actually Big Bang never released something this bad! Let’s forget about “Idol.”

For the next few years, I predict:

Racism scandal (oh, wait, this already happened).

BTS spontaneously stops creating music for a few years and then shows up again with a full 7 music videos only to disappear for a year after promising the full album

BTS goes to the army, then drops out of the army, then goes back to the army. Meanwhile V serves well and no one hates on him.

BTS don’t lose popularity no matter how many things happen to them. People eventually try to call them washed out but they’re objectively wrong. BTS is officially an iconic group; what do you mean “washed out”?

see bigbang are at this level where they don’t have to be the group everyone is buzzing about currently because people already know who they are. they’ve cemented their place at number 1 in the industry. they are known as legends and are highly influential. bigbang are in their 12th year and people are comparing them to current groups that should really say it all.

sure current boygroups have the hype and gain lots of new fans but you can’t just surpass a group like bigbang because bigbang aren’t even in the race. they’re high above it, watching it while sipping their expensive wine. bigbang’s status has been cemented years ago. current boygroups could surpass their sales, their views, their whatevers, but there is really no competition here - bigbang are always going to be that group. the group that everyone constantly look to and aspire to be. bigbang are bigbang there’s nothing else to say here.

What’s with Ryu Hwa Young? Why are people calling her a snake?

The story:

-Becomes a late addition member of T-ara along with other former member Areum.

-Fakes an ankle injury right before an important concert in Japan (went to two hospitals with staff, which said nothing was wrong, and then mysteriously shows up at airport with a cast anyways and demands to be taken out in a wheelchair in front of reporters and photographers).

-Hwayoung decides to skip out on rehearsals for the Japan concert in order to get some ~fancy nail art~ done, causing T-ara members and staff to do last-minute rearrangements of choreography/lighting etc., making their rehearsal last a full 6 hours longer than usual. All because Hwayoung just felt like getting her nails done.

-Several T-ara members throw shade at Hwayoung on Twitter, originating the iconic “it’s a difference in determination levels” line that plagues T-ara for years forward.

-Later, as the members are waiting to go onstage at a Music Bank recording, Hwayoung’s twin sister Hyoyoung sends physically threatening texts to T-ara member Areum (who was not part of the Twitter shade).

-At the same recording Hyomin attempted to make up with Hwayoung, but Hwayoung said “there’s nothing I feel sorry for,” ending conversation.

-Hwayoung then throws a tantrum and refuses to go on stage for the Music Bank recording

-On the way home, Hwayoung gets mad at Hyomin and Areum and angrily throws her crutches in front of reporters.

-Subsequently, “evidence” begins to surface on Pann and various other fan sites that T-ara are bullying Hwayoung. This “evidence” consists of manipulated gifs and pictures, and has been thoroughly debunked as libelous bullshit. Notwithstanding, the gifs and screencaps are widely disseminated among fan circles, eventually working their way into mainstream media, and embroiling T-ara in a massive bullying scandal.

-Hwayoung leaves T-ara. The CEO of MBK Entertainment tells the truth about the incident publicly, but naively phrases it so incredibly vaguely that no one believes him. He insists that Hwayoung is leaving due to “complaints from stylists and staff” and NOT due to the bullying scandal, but refuses to be specific, flaming the T-ara Hate Fire further.

-Over the next five years (2012-2017) unfairly get significant shit from the Korean public. However, they somehow remain unbothered and continue to churn out some of the best songs in the kpop industry, gaining massive success in China and earning hella yuan.

-However, much to the chagrin of rational people everywhere, Hwayoung profits greatly off of the scandal. Although she initially put out a weak “yeahhhh there was no bullying….” statement in the very beginning, over the years she tacitly promoted the lie as truth, and essentially built her entire acting career off of sympathy points and lies.

-In 2017, Hwayoung and her twin Hyoyoung go on the variety show “Taxi” and start (literally) crying about how much they suffered in T-ara and through the scandal once more to shamelessly drag out extra emotional baggage for attention.

-A former T-ara staff member gets pissed watching the broadcast of “Taxi” as the Ryu twins fake cry for fame and pretend like they took the high road.

-Said staff member corroborates the “nail art rehearsal skipping fake injury” story as well as the “Music Bank crutch-chucking” incident and posts the text exchange in which Hyoyoung threatens to scratch Areum’s face.

-T-ara’s former manager confirms the staff member’s accounts as true. In a Dispatch article 6 staff members also confirmed the accounts as being true.

-Stylist Kim Woori comes forward on TV and states that Hwayoung was a real bitch to her hairstylists and staff, calling them disrespectful names such as “shampoo.”

-Hwayoung goes off on Instagram about how Kim Woori is lying, but several more former Hwayoung makeup and hair staff come forward with accounts that Hwayoung was indeed extremely disrespectful, berating and swearing at her staff to the point where several members quit.

-Finally, Hwayoung and Hyoyoung are thoroughly exposed as snakes and bullies by dozens of different accounts from… basically everyone who ever worked with Hwayoung during her T-ara days. After five full years of lies.

TL;DR The Ryu twins sat and watched as T-ara took massive amounts of shit all while profiting off of the scandal for years and being the bullies themselves. S n a k e s.
