i am so tired of revisiting the discourse surrounding taylors new friends but man it’s so disheartening that the stance she’s taking is that those peoples’ politics and beliefs don’t matter because they’re personally nice to her

can’t help but think back to when she delivered the woman of the year speech in like, 2018 or 2019 and shared frustration about when you speak up about somebody in the industry, and everyone’s response is “well he’s always nice to me so..” like. writing songs about how your friends are super #cancelled because people don’t like that they vote against basic human rights and decency is just corny and frankly disgusting.
