Norhi paced back and forth, tail twitching with irritation behind her. She shouldnât be so angry. That was Elliotâs job. And one he seemed to be taking seriously, for all the silence heâd thrown at that visit. But part of her couldnât help it. And part of her knew, understood even, why Nolanel had made that decision. And then, even that made her angry. That he felt such a decision was even warranted.Â
She finally turns on her heel, a finger coming up to point accusingly at the little marker bearing Haloneâs symbol. She inhales quickly, as if planning to rant. But then she lets it out, deflating. Her ears droop and her tail wraps around her knees in a sign of insecurity. She frowns sadly now. âHalone⌠They are so devoted to you. Surely you could give them a respite. Room to choose their path without the guilt, without the⌠pain. Do they not deserve even that little bit?â

And when all the woes finally come to an end with the setting of the sun, Akizuki puts his daughter to rest in her small crib, then turns and gathers Norhi into his arms, silent and nudging, as she let's loose the grief of all her days sadness upon his shoulder.
Never judging and always present when she needs a compassionate ear to listen, or soft shoulder to cry on.
Akizuki holds fast to Cinori as twilight overtakes their home and the moon dances up in the sky to greet them.
