1x09 “Reigning Pain in New Orleans”
MODERN DISNEY PRINCESS AESTHETIC: ELSA
isaac-thayer:
“Ah, you caught me, I have, in fact, witnessed a person move their legs in a quick fashion before.” He grinned and hopped down from the back of the bench he’d been sitting on. “Haven’t seen you much lately, Katara. I’m surprised to see you’re still alive.”
Anouk gave the other a raised eyebrow at his comment. “In my home, you are what we would call a bijdehandje. They are quite agitating.” The word was smart ass in her language. “I had family matters to attend to, Zuko. Im surprised one of your tricks have yet to go horribly wrong to cause your death.”
Anouk could admit that she had been lacking in the physical activity aspect of her life. Lately it has been study, study, study, so for now she was taking a break. A run was a good way to clear her mind anyway, so it was a win win situation. After running a few miles she slowed to a stop and placed her hands on her hips as she breathed out into the cool air when she saw someone in the clearing watching her. She pulled her hair out of her ponytail and let it fall down her back as she walked over. “You act as if you’ve never seen someone run before.”

I’ve never been good at emotional stuff. Except anger. Anger, I’m good at.

Theo took a sip of his wine and continued to watch the people below, relaxing into the silence around them. Her voice startled him a little, but other than the sharp inhale and momentary closing of his eyes, there were no outward signs. “Is that a bad thing?” he asked after a moment, glancing over at her before taking another drink from his glass. He figured she would have appreciated the change, considering she had made it quite clear she preferred to sit in silence or make a point of not getting involved in social situations. He stayed silent again for a while after his question and drank more of the wine. As he refilled his glass, he cleared his throat a little and spoke again. “I come up here a lot. Most nights. Sleep hasn’t really been easy to come by recently. It’s peaceful, though, don’t you think?”
Anouk felt the cool breeze brush against her bare arms. She usually didnt bring a jacket, mostly because she enjoyed the cold far more then the warmth. “It is not, but i do remember you enjoying the art of talking and conversing.” She said, resting her chin on her hands as she watched the oblivious people below as they easily fell back into silence. Although, The waterbender was curious as to why he was so quiet, she would not admit it. There still was a good chunk of her that did not care. His confession caused her to nod her head. “It is typically far more serene without the constant hum of rushing commoners. Night time is the only time i would willingly come here.”

Theo had been extraordinarily anti-social since returning to Clearbrook, his usual demeanor dampened and quieted by the events of the summer. He had taken to finding places to spend time where people wouldn’t find him or when he didn’t think there would be many of them. He jumped down from a tree not far from the back of the tavern he’d spent much of his sleepless nights at onto the roof, landing quietly and making his way over to the door that led down to the bar. He’d come to an agreement of sorts with Freddy, and he slapped a hundred in the register before grabbing a bottle of wine and a glass and heading back up to the roof. When the door shut behind him, he made his way over to where a familiar figure stood and filled his glass, otherwise making no noise, for once enjoying her stoic silence. The faery watched the people walk below them as he sipped his glass, his gesture toward her with the bottle of wine, an open invitation for her to help herself to the gentle alcohol, before setting it down between them his only acknowledgment of her presence.
Anouk didn't enjoy her time back home. Especially her parents constant questions and prodding about her abilities. Yes, she was better, but they were disappointed that she couldn't be like both of her siblings. They were disappointed that she wasn't perfect. But she put all of the behind her and let out a slow sigh, feeling the wind blow around her.Hearing the door open and then close, she didn't look until Theo, oddly quiet, stood beside her. The waterbender took the bottle once he set it down and took a small sip before putting back down. She let the silence surround them for a few moments before finally speaking up, eyes on the people below them. “You’re more quiet than usual.” She stated simply. There was an obvious change in him... And for once, she was curious as to what it was.

Anouk leaned over the railing with a small glass of Moet Chandon Champagne on top of the bar’s roof, goosebumps raising along her pale skin as the cool wind brushed against her bare arms. She actually did miss this place a bit, but mostly because she would rather not be stuck with her 'perfect’ family. While this place had a few people she would rather keep away from, it was still less stressful. Hearing someone walk onto the roof and seeing them lean against the rail, she didn't say anything. It was usually pretty rare for her to start a conversation anyway, and she didn't want to ruin her own good mood.
Awaiting Coffee//Anouk&Open
Thais was out and about running errands before deciding to stop at a nearby coffee shop for a little break. She was glad to see the town reaching its full potential with all the renovations, as well as the return of students for the new school year. While she stood in line quietly, she took out her phone and began preoccupying herself with it as she waited for her order to be taken. However, a familiar voice caught her attention and so she looked up from her screen as she came face to face with Anouk. Thais was irritated at first by the news that she had to wait, but she later released a sigh of defeat as she took a seat next to the blonde. “Thanks,” she muttered. “Haven’t seen you in a while. How have you been? Did you go home this summer?”
Anouk crossed her legs and placed her pale hands in her lap, spine completely straight. Her perfect posture never faltered, even if she was exhausted which she was now. When Thais thanked her, she nodded her head once before turning to watch the fluttered girl run around like the flame of a fire gone rogue. The waterbender was slightly surprised with the question, but then again this school was always quite talkative. “I have been fine.” She said. “Yes. We traveled a bit to visit family in the Netherlands. And you?” They might as well talk since the coffee would most likely take a while.
Awaiting Coffee//Anouk&Open
During Anouk’s time home, she studied harder than she’s done before. Her relationship with her family was still nearly nonexistent, but she really learned a lot. While she did advance in her powers a bit, there still was that constant struggle to be as good as her siblings. Walking into a nearby coffee shop and ordering a Chai Tea Latte, the Waterbender would never admit it to herself, but she did miss the school and the serenity she was able to achieve from it. She let out a soft sigh as a machine breaking in the distance was heard. “I would take a seat if i were you.” Anouk stated in her soft, Dutch accent. The accent always made her voice sound more friendly than it really was. “The new barista has broken the coffee machine.”
