When Life Gives You Tangerines
* I love how the series slowly shows the reality of life—the challenges you face in your youth, as a working adult, as a parent, and as an individual. It reminds us that happiness is never constant, that life can be tender one moment and unbearably heavy the next.
* First, it shows that becoming a parent at a young age without savings or financial stability means you may spend your whole life providing for your children, and it may still never feel like enough. At some point, you will suffer—and your children will too.
* It emphasizes how important it is to marry a kind man—a man who makes your life easier, who loves you more than you love him. A man who loves you deeply will do everything he can to give you a life worth living. It teaches the quiet truth about love and marriage
* Ae Sun’s dream: She did not follow the path she once imagined. Even though she didn’t go to college or become a poet, everything worked out for her in the right time. life met her halfway, proving that dreams do not disappear, they simply wait. If you hold on long enough, what you desire finds you, even if it arrives late, even if it arrives differently.
* Ae Sun’s daughter: The series realistically shows how children can take their parents’ hard work for granted, only to appreciate it later in life. It also portrays how difficult it can be for children to express their love for their parents, and the guilt they feel when they begin prioritizing themselves.
These are just some of my thoughts—I haven’t written everything I felt while watching this series. But this is truly a masterpiece. It beautifully captures the reality of life and how we feel about it: our parents, our choices, and the paths we take. Watching it feels like seeing pieces of your own life unfold on screen.
