Did you ever establish whether Rebecca was a pop star or a politician or whatever to Cam's bodyguard? Because I feel like that would greatly help me picture it...

Let me give this earnest thought.

Feels like one route is to keep her an author - maybe a more established one, maybe one writing on controversial topics. She is cerebral, but also emotion-led that doesn’t feel conducive with politician.

I can also see her as an heir who needs protection but is stubborn and independent and resists her family’s resources.

Still a little salty we didn't get to see Cam concerned about Rebecca being left in the warehouse while high on acid...feel like we should have gotten to see her tearing through Victoria looking for Rebecca since they had dinner plans. But whatever

Listen. I agree with this - I would love to bear witness to an openly protective and concerned Cam.

I want a fic where both Becca and Cam always kept in touchthrough phone calls but mostly letters because those are more sacred and intimate and one day tho both of them are in a city somewhere due to work or vacation and suddenly they met in a casual way as if the other's magnetic presence attracted them and now I need someone to write this AU

I’ve never needed anything more. The intimacy of letter writing. The vulnerability this medium would create.

And then boom - face to face.

Okay. But what about mechanic!Cam?? Having to tow famous author Rebecca Godfrey's car when she breaks down near her small first nations town?? And what if Rebecca begs her to drive her overnight to the college where she's supposed to be lecturing? And it's a lonnngggggg drive??

Hmmmm. Would the Cam x Becca meeting up once a year be like--the anniversary of Gabes death or the anniversary of Reena's death or like Christmas or something??

So! My initial thought was something completely unrelated to the case.

Like, we plug into these two characters way down the line — like 20 years from now. Cam is in Vancouver and reunited with her family. Becca is established in NYC.

We follow one of them heading out on a long weekend. And lo and behold, they pull into a quiet, secluded cabin. And who is there? The other one.

And it turns out that they have found peace and general happiness in their lives, and those lives are on opposite sides of the continent. But for one weekend each year, they reconnect. It’s just the two of them tucked away from the world.

They are soft and intimate with each other. Their is spent in equal parts catching up and comfortable silence. They take walks together, read together, nap together, sleep together. They recharge in a way they can only in each other’s presence.

And at the end of the long weekend, they hug. They kiss. And they part ways. Until the next year.

Also imagine how surprised Rebecca would be when bodyguard!Cam actually steps up and she gets to feel those strong arms around her for the first time...

I imagine Cam would be a 'terrible' bodyguard up until it actually matters. Like, she wouldn't open doors for Rebecca or do much more than stand off to the side when fans swarm etc. But the moment she senses a real threat she's shielding Rebecca with her body and murmuring in her ear that it's not safe and to trust her...

Ugh. Yes.

And then the danger becomes too real & Cam can’t trust protocol so she has to take Becca off the grid to protect her.

Someone write this please.

I do not want to think about Cam Bentland loving anyone else but Rebecca 😭😭😭

I know, I KNOW. (And I really appreciate that there was no love triangle implication in the series)

But my god, the angst between these two is so delicious. And I don’t like the idea of Cam single forever because she’s away from Becca. But also, sorry to that person (because it will always be Becca - and watching Cam fight against that out of honor would be painful and beautiful)

personally i’m a fan of when a story is like. the love was there. unfortunately. this all could have actually gone a lot easier for everyone if the love hadn’t been there but here we are

I keep thinking about Cam and Becca’s final conversation. Cam felt grounded and at peace to me. Becca - I don’t know how to read.

Her response “…yeah” to cam asking if she got Victoria out of her system. It felt…half-hearted? Defeated? I don’t know.

How did you read her in this interaction?

I think that Becca is a lot more at peace than we've seen her so far, but no, not completely there. Tbh I'm not sure either are completely there at this moment but both are making the right decisions for themselves and for Cam that's a first. An exciting next stage.

I read Becca's long pause before answering as two things. First, I don't think she has *Cam* out of her system, and she might have been wondering if Cam was asking that on some level. It's kind of a dismissive way of asking if she got the closure she needed. And second, Victoria is not something she will ever be able to truly leave behind, but she did move out of the desperate place she was in before.

I think she was just wishing she could have Cam and her New York life.

This makes a lot of sense to me.

The way Cam looks off to the side asking if Victoria is out of her system felt loaded.

Becca drinking a beer was noticeable too.

There were at least 4 months between Reena's death (which show-wise was very close to when Becca arrived) and the START of Warren's trial. Depending on how long Warren's trial went on--and then Kelly's, she could have been in town for 6 months or more.

At least 6 months is what I was thinking too.
