It is from the perspective of a gay man, Ben. He speaks about the cultural barriers that oppress LGBT community.
The lyrics that particularly stood out for me were: "If I was gay, I would think hip hop hates me. Have you read the youtube comments lately. 'Man that's gay' gets dropped on the daily. We become so numb to what we're saying. A culture founded from oppression."
"Human rights for everyone. There is no difference."
I read a post by a fellow tumblr friend, @ryangatherswool, where he talked about the discrimination against gay people by hip hop and rap artists. This song reminded me of his post. He is more informed on the subject, so I highly suggest you read it.

I could only hope that those who are unknowledgable and anti-gay could listen from this perspective and take some time to think. For now I feel like this post is preaching to the choir.
Part of me wonders if those who are "homophobic" are so because the idea of "sex" is the first thing that comes up, and talking about sex lives of others greatly bothers them. These people could be the same as those who wait until they are married to have sex.
But if this is a case, it is surely small, because people develop their own biases and hatred for their own reasons. I do not want to say that this is a fact, my idea, but it is a possibility. They could be using their fear of acknowledged, but really unknown habits of other people's sexual acts as a basis for their attacks. The point is that they have fear, and they allow that fear to become hate.
Each of those people who are anti-gay have their own fears, thus addressing this issue will always be multi-faceted because those who support the LGBT community will always be up against different thought processes.
It is a shame that those people are so focused on the sexual intimacy of those people of the same sex that they cannot see that people are people. Just because a man is gay or a woman is a lesbian, does not mean he and she are sleeping around at every opportunity. A person of LGBT gender roles are people, and hence they like straight people can practice selectiveness of a partner.
Let us not forget that there are plenty of straight people who perform many sexual acts with many different partners, and yet they are not slighted like a gay couple that have been each other's only partners in their lifetimes.
I offer no solutions because it will take the world a change that could take decades in order to have REAL acceptance of the LGBT community. I can only hope that it is in my lifetime, and I will make a difference by always supporting that community. A community of people.
