Restoration kinda just forgetting/dismissing that Simmons did have a subtle arc around not caring about becoming Red Team Captain anymore in the Chourus Trilogy, to just imply having him. Alone. In Red Team Base. No one for him to lead, just him and his title.

RvB yaoi aside, he should’ve just gone with Grif, it’s so dumb for him to stay. Finally getting to his goal and realizing it wasn’t what he wanted/wants anymore? It could’ve completed his character so much!

Blue Team isn’t even in the files anymore, Simmons moving on and leaving Red Base empty would’ve truly signify that Red vs Blue is over. Get outta here!
