In the last episode of the season to Make Some Noise, Brennan finally had an example where his intro applies. He had, in fact, seen one of them.

How in the fuck did someone manage to get a gun into the White House correspondence dinner?
Please someone tell me the mentalist brought three friends on the stage and did a mass hypnosis and someone shouted freeze.
watching a pot means itll never boil but leaving it unwatched makes it always boil over so basically cooking pasta is kinda like quantum superposition
Which is why I spin when cooking it. Negates the problem.
Leak the files.
I highly recommend watching this testimony from Aliya Rahman, the disabled woman who was dragged out of her car and kidnapped by ICE on her way to a doctor appointment in Minneapolis a few weeks ago.
Truly my worst nightmare.
...How did they come up with that number? I googled it, and a $1 today was, apparently, worth about $8.50 in 1970. Minimum wage was also $1.30 an hour. Adjusted for inflation, minimum wage back then would be $11.05 today. Not $60 an hour, which seems, frankly, ridiculous. I also googled Andrew Lokenaut to see what his deal was, and he's a fintech guy with classes on How To Improve Your Earning Power. I mean, look at this stuff.
I think his shtick is just to make people feel pissed off and poor so that they... what, take his classes? Grind harder? Engage more with his posts? But he's definitely more interested in getting you angry than actually making your life better. He's pretty obviously a grifter.
And to be clear, I am in favor of minimum wage increases, I'm in favor of improved benefits, I'm in favor of making things better for the poorest people in our society, not just the rich, and not just the middle class. I just want point out that the 1970s was not some mythic period where you could work as a checkout clerk at a grocery store and live your life with the kind of comfort that a lawyer would today. The idea that the past was some kind of incredible paradise and that it was taken from you, and that all we need to do in order to find it again is return to that moment, is quite literally the core idea of fascism. People telling you that lie are trying to get you so angry that you stop thinking. Never stop thinking.
You are so close to seeing it, keep going. See now the value of items and products sold in the stores, compare their prices from before to their prices today.
I feel like a feral animal
One thing I've noticed here, and maybe people saw it before: I've no longer seen Gangle's happy mask. But at the beach she is smiling through her sad mask. Zoo Le really helped her with this.

chatgpt is a program that calculates a statisticly likely response to what it is prompted with. that is how LLMs work. it has no memory, your whole chat log is the prompt, not just the latest sentence. it doesn't think, or reason. it's just statistics.
i'm reblogging this response because i felt this needed to be highlighted and repeated:
it has no memory, your whole chat log is the prompt, not just the latest sentence. it doesn't think, or reason. it's just statistics.
Just one small correction. The whole chat is not the prompt, that would escalate processing time exponentially. Your chat is being prompted to create a more specific prompt, so when your chat is very very long, it actually sends a resume of it. So overtime it gets more and more specific to you and your content.
Imagine the same skill people did when writing essays for a book, but even more scuffed, because at some point it will make an essay of the essays.
Oh, this one sting...
"weather tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them" is about killing yourself. it's not a triumphant call to action to right a bad life situation i fear 😭 unless you are planning to right it by killing yourself
I always understood it as "to accept what suffering is coming or to try to counter it by directly interrupting it". And the "to die. To sleep" is followed first with "no more", so a call for action sounds more like it. Curious thinking.
please understand that this is morally neutral and im not about to make fun of yall. out of pure academic curiousity...
whats your employment status?
unemployed and fine with it
unemployed and anxious about it
unemployed and looking for a job
underemployed and looking for a new job
part-time and that works for me
part-time and looking for full-time
full-time and looking to cut back hours/find a part-time job
full-time and thats what i prefer/require
not applicable (student, caretaker, cant work, etc)
man, its real complicated. im bald or whatever
i cannot capture all the nuances of the human experience wrt labor in one poll with a max option limit. be nicies to me
this poll is gonna be naturally skewed towards people who can spend more time on tumblr, so employed people are less likely to see it. im scheduling this for random times in the hopes that people in other timezones might see it on their lunch break
Truly inspirational! Charlie Kirk showing the people once again that in America, regardless of your background, what you believe in, or where you come from, you too can become a victim of the nation-wide gun violence epidemic!
You can see how beloved he is by children, as many follow his example.
