Hello Slav! I want to say thank you for all you do and I hope you are well! I hope you not mind but I have a question. What do this mean? “All your faith/All your rage/All your pain/It ain't over now/And I ain't talking about forgiveness”. The last line I not understanding. Thank you! 🫵💋

Hmm the way I see it, the song is quite ripe with religious metaphors so we may look at forgiveness here in the religious sense. In essence, being forgiven by God means your sins and your guilt are washed away, and through this you gain a peace of mind. We know from the opening line that the addressee tried reaching out to God - 'through benediction (= prayer), you tried to rid your mind of malediction' but it didn't seem to work. So all this darkness he has inside, guilt, shame, rage, it's still there, because it has not been forgiven. It therefore needs to find a way out through other means, the spillways. Our pain 'spills out' of us metaphorically and in a more literal sense it may manifest in some destructive behaviors, or maybe just speaking out in anger about how you feel so that others feel it too. Tobias called Spillways 'an elegy for darkness that most people have inside' and I always found that to be apt. It's all just..very human.

Bit of a sidenote. In the music video they use the verse from chapter 10 of Book of Job and the notion of forgiveness in this context appears throughout the book as well. At one point, Job realizes that regardless if he has sinned or is innocent, God will never bestow forgiveness on him and release him from his suffering. And he is told to accept it as the will of God and keep quiet, but he doesn't want to keep quiet. He basically goes: you know what, no, fuck you. I am going to speak in the bitterness of my soul because I am in pain and I want everyone to know that, but most of all I want God to tell me why am I in this pain. So, it fits Spillways very well.
