sailor mars
[ ♂ ] :: Oh, it was a good thing Rei wasn’t the mind-reader people thought her to be. She’d have quite the bone to pick with Minako for assuming she wasn’t on the right path. Throwing all of her energy and concentration onto the past life’s mission just wasn’t her idea of living.
It ultimately didn’t surprise her that the other had never been to a festival, not even one sponsored by her manager or other business partners. Well, that much might be possible but she didn’t feel the need to ask further. If Minako didn’t have the time for singing, what else was she going to do with her life? After handing over the tea and quietly warning the idol of the heated cup, Rei filled her own cup with the fragrant beverage and sat back a little on her knees.
“Usagi is coming with her mother and brother. Makoto’s coming too. Ami-chan said something about cram school and that she’ll try to make it.” The miko’s lips pursed as she idly ran a finger along the warm porcelain rim. “You can stop by too if you don’t bring a stampede with you.”
So most, if not all of the sailor senshi would be there. Minako had presumed they'd be, as the girls were practically inseperable, but with Mars' confirmation came another bout of jealousy. It was silly to feel the way she did. It was her own fault she was not part of their clique; though she was quick to remind herself, it was better that way. She really did not want to depress anyone.
The finger she had hooked within the handle of her porcelain cup tightened some, but loosened almost as soon as she received an invitation to the festival as well.
Minako tore her gaze from the table and finally looked at Mars ─ no ─ Rei. She couldn't describe what she was feeling in that moment. Relief, was it? Gratitude? Perhaps even, a concoction of multiple elements causing her heart to beat faster. She hadn't been prepared for the invitation, and she didn't exactly know how to respond to it.
"I highly doubt my busy schedule would allow it," She answered, and looking down again, she cursed herself for such a rude response, however serious it may have been. Among her work as an idol, her work as a solider, and attempting to keep herself distant from others, she wasn't certain she'd be able to attend. Still, her differences with Rei set aside, it didn't feel right to dismiss the invitation on such a sour note. With a much softer tone, she added, "...but I'll see what I can do."
