her voice effectively breaks him out of thoughts of food -- honestly, he’s been surprised to hear her talking to him. the lunch line ( even if it covers most of the room like it currently is ) isn’t quite the place he enjoyed conversation ( well, not with strangers ) ... but the line is long and the place is packed. he’d better make himself at home and reply. he’s go nothing better to do with his time right now.
