Process & Portfolio day 2

Looking at the third year portfolios was so much fun !! And really interesting and inspiring. I wish we could see the third years talk about their work themselves but I guess they have a lot on, I wish more connections were made between the years because I never get the opportunity to see their work or even talk to them unless I go into their studios, which is impossible if you don’t have a reason or you look like a right oddball. Collaborative projects !!! Bring them into our crits!!! Let us go into their crits !!

Process & Portfolio Day 1

Having a time set aside to work on my portfolio is a really exciting prospect, I am looking forward to completing the portfolio to have a finished product of my work from the last year. Annoyingly we got kicked out of the graphics infinity wall, I was told when joining this course that it was possible to use the infinity wall as we are in riverhouse and not knights park but I was told I had to go to a graphics tutor I did not know, in an office I did not know, to sign up so just I could use it for a slot, which was not available for at least a week. Not cool !! We should have a sign up sheet & slots too

Todays CHS lecture was on essay structure, I did find it quite useful because I’m still deciding between two questions for the essay and the pointers Maggie made us write out helped me decide which was better for what I wanted to write about. A bunch of it was quite basic but then there was easy stuff that I hadn’t thought about so someone probably found it useful. Somehow, I am mildly excited to get into research!

notes from the CHS visit to the V&A, the bit I enjoyed most was the controversy in the videogame world, such as sexism, homophobia, racism, subject morality etc and seeing queer games being produced was encouraging. Interactivity is a fascinating subject, and I have a particular interest in sensory elements.
