Yall have never encountered the horror of a Dislocated Knee and it shows
in honour of the original video turning a year old, may i present:
the witcher but with britney spears music (now with sound effects) (originally inspired by @paper-records)
let it also be said that I love the Mahariel + Lavellan worldstate. It's so haunted. You are Dalish, you are not a part of human culture, but by happenstance you're dragged into it and to the forefront of hell to save a world that hates and fears your people. You have no choice. You can never return to your home, to the familiar, to anything you've ever known. You will be an echo; Mahariel echoing Garahel, Lavellan echoing Mahariel. You're so proud of your Dalish heritage, but your identity doesn't matter at all. Doomed to be a martyr for a people that do not respect you and cannot understand you, while your clan mourns, lamenting that they cannot bury you, no life-tree to stand as your memory. You're a hero. You're already dead. You died the moment you left your clan.
@deputyash ♥
tbh any time ive had middle aged adults condescend to me like im super naive its because their lives are shit and they assume thats gonna happen to me too and i need to wise up or whatever. maybe theyre resentful. it doesnt work on me anymore because ive known too many 50 year olds with fun lives who dont do that.
me: after work im gonna go to a show but i think i wanna see if i can find a cute outfit for it at a thrift shop :-)
weird hag who hates her job and her kids: heh, someday youll learn that in the real adult world you cant just have fun all the time. listen kid, you gotta step up and be responsible someday...
normal 50 year old: that sounds fun can i come
God I love Dragon Age 2. You live in crime city. Your found family is bisexual and hates each other. There are no good endings. Game of all time and I’ve only just started act two.
LUCANIS DELLAMORTE Dragon Age: The Veilguard Combat Part 1: Prepare for Battle
She was the best of them. She cared for her people. She protected them.
#I am ABSOLUTELY convinced that the reason that she isn’t as derogatory about the dalish #as the other two #is that she lived the intervening centuries #she saw how much was stolen from them #how much the loss of their culture and their magic–however flawed it was–damaged them #and how far they climbed back #with nothing but their will and their hands and their stories to do it with #she didn’t wake to a degraded people #she saw a living people not only surviving but striving for more (via)
People who grew up with phones may wonder what people did to pass the time in bathrooms before they could idly scroll. Once upon a time there were books in bathrooms. There was an entire genre of book designed to be read exclusively while shitting. Always the same books, no matter what bathroom or whose house. They were as follows:
An book of unusual facts, titled something like Uncle Al's Craptime Reader; about half of the facts are adjacent to being true
At least one book by Dave Barry; in the last era of the bathroom book, replace this with a Dilbert collection
Baseball almanacs
A slim, ancient volume of uncertain origin, whose title promises "101 FUNNIEST ETHNIC JOKES (updated with the latest Polish jokes for '63)!"
Readers Digest was designed to be kept in bathrooms. You got a new one every month with a bunch of shortened articles from other publications, stories that would rightfully be called clickbait today. Plus pages of non-offensive jokes collected by type (Humor in Uniform, Life in These United States, some other ones) And while the editorial staff would never be caught making a scatological joke, the title “Readers Digest” was pretty obvious
They paid pretty well, too. One writer of my acquaintance got his highest per-word rate ever ($10 per word!) for the "Quotable Quotes" entry, "Too bad common sense isn't."
Me on Halloween the second Dragon Age: The Veilguard is installed and ready to play
Love it when Rolling Stone puts out an article about the 25 most influential internet creators and I've only heard of 7 of them
Well I've only heard of two so you're doing better than I am!
I'm curious now since tumblr.com is home to such a specific audience and the list seems to be full of TikTokers and Instagramers. Is Instagramers the word?
Out of Rolling Stone's 25 Most Influential Creators of 2024,
