What do you do if you can't find trigger fingers by then time you hit ultra?
Die.
What are your top 3 Golden weapons?
There’s a lot of good options but my personal favourites are probably Golden Splinter Gun, Golden Shotgun and Golden Laser Pistol.
Hello everyone. It’s been a while, like a “almost a year” while.
My absence has mostly been caused by not actually getting any questions for all this time, as it was my purpose to answer them if I got any. My personally waning interest in the game hasn’t helped matters either, but I feel like the general interest in Nuclear Throne has faded overall, even from Vlambeer.
With all that said I’ve considered doing some more stuff on this blog by reblogging Nuclear Throne fanart on a daily basis, so be sure to tell me if that’s something you would be interested in.
Also I’ve been playing a lot more Enter the Gungeon recently so I think I’m going to officially start accepting questions on that game as well, just be aware that I’m not as good at that game as I am Nuclear Throne so I am be unable to give you a proper answer. Hell while we’re at it you can start sending me Dark Souls 3 questions as well if you’d like, that’s a game I’m really good at.
Hey, do you think you'd be open to doing questions about Enter the Gungeon as well?
Probably not, because I’m not very good at Enter the Gungeon if I’m completely honest.
Also I didn’t actually like Enter the Gungeon very much? It’s weird because the game feels way more polished and has more weapon variety so my gut feeling from the very beginning was that it should be the better game but there’s just some completely unknowable factor that makes the game really boring to me and it makes me think that Nuclear Throne (in spite of all the gripes I have with that game right now) is the better game.
"Everyone knows" that the Auto-Crossbow is a pretty great post-loop weapon for crowds and big enemies alike, but while you're waiting for something like that to drop, do you prefer the Hyper Slugger or the Gatling Bazooka? They do pretty much the same job but have some interesting differences.
Out of those two I’d prefer the Hyper Slugger because it’s significantly less likely to kill me, but if you’ve got Boiling Veins then the Gatling Bazooka is a fine choice.
Bolt Marrow is BAD. I'm sorry, I know ultra crossbow and auto crossbow are pretty good, but there are so many better weapons, and bolt marrow is just a waste of mutation space to me. What do you think?
What I think? Well I obviously think you’re wrong which you probably already knew since I’m guessing you’ve read what I think of Bolt Marrow as otherwise you wouldn’t have much a of a reason to write this to begin with.
But I digress, I stand very firmly by Bolt Marrow being good. It changes bolts from high-precision high damage DPS tools into AoE monstrosities, and makes Super Crossbow, Super Splinter Gun and Seeker Shotgun pretty incredible weapons. Sure, there are better builds, but this is a game with inherent variance so you can’t guarantee you’re going to get Ultra Shovel and Super Plasma Cannon every time, you have to be flexible.
Also, hi everyone! I’m still alive. I apologize for not writing anything in a really long time. To be honest with you I haven’t actually played Nuclear Throne in a couple of months now (for various reasons, but that’s another story) and that combined with not actually getting any questions during all this time hasn’t really given me any motivation to do anything.
But I’m still here, and I’m still answering questions. Sure I haven’t played in a while but the game hasn’t been patched since February anyway so it’s not like my knowledge is out of date or anything.

Daily Run Report: June 4, 2016
No report yesterday as I got home late and only had two hours left to do the Daily so it didn’t feel a report was very helpful at the time.
1-1: Level 2, picked Bloodlust 1-3: Level 3 Trigger Fingers 2-1: Went to Pizza Sewers. Level 4, picked Second Stomach 3-1: Level 5, picked Plutonium Hunger 3-3: Level 6, picked Patience 4-1: Patience gave me Strong Spirit 5-1: Level 7, picked Impact Wrists 5-3: The spawn is a large, mostly open area and as such the Lil’ Hunter fight is a mess. Level 8, picked Rabbit Paw. 7-2: Level 9, picked Back Muscle. L1 0-1: Died to throne II. Backed myself into a corner and panicked.
This Daily had pretty good Mutations overall (though it seems to lack Long Arms and Boiling Veins) and the weapons weren’t bad either. I think you all will do great today.

Daily Report: June 1, 2016
Alright so this is a thing I might start doing where I list what happens during my Daily runs, as well as anything I think is particularly worth warning people of in advance. Since Daily Runs have shared seeds you should expect your run to mirror mine pretty closely if you follow my lead. Some things can cause you deviate my from my run but truth be told I am not entirely certain what causes it.
1-1: Infested rad canister.
1-1: Hit level 2, picked Trigger Fingers

L1 1-2: Failed to open Crown Vault. Hit Level Ultra, Picked Ima Gun God.
L1 1-3: Died to a Bandit.
Today’s Daily had pretty poor Mutations and Weapons. Consider playing either Y.V. or Horror.
What would be your personal tips for an aspiring Horror player? I've managed to make it to the throne with him, but haven't tried looping yet. Always found his Radiation Beam ideal for specific encounters, but not sure when's the best times to use it aside from a panic button to stop enemy bullets or tear a bit of extra damage into a boss or such.
I’d say those are the ideal scenarios for using the Radiation Beam. There’s really no need to use it more often than that, especially since you chew through your rads really quickly and you might potentially want them for something else like an Ultra Weapon.
Also I apologize profusely for taking so long to answer this question because I don’t even have an excuse, I just didn’t do it.
How do I even begin to survive the palace on post-loop? 7-1 L1 is the wall for me when going for score. I either get overwhelmed by dogs or get my cover overrun. Hammerhead doesn't help because then I just get suppressed and lose the war of attrition. What's the smart way to do post-loop Palace without having to rely on good starts or best weapons?
If we take weapons and Mutations out of the equation (that said Y.V. with Ima Gun God and melee weapons is a really good strategy) then all you really have left is bobbing and weaving. Try not to get yourself stuck in a corner, focus your fire on the Dogs so they’re not distracting/killing you.
There’s really no tricks to help you here, so as much as I hate to say it you kinda just to have to get good. Really good. Because post-Loop Palace is hell.
Since you can only get early game weapons in the desert, the disc gun is one of the most useful weapons in hard mode due to the discs going through enemies. Just thought i should share this because Chicken's b-skin is very hard to get.
I don’t need to add much here, so I’m just gonna share it as it is. Watch out for your Discs though!
Since it has been proven that there is an easy way to get the crowns like that, I thought I should suggest using Rebel to get the Crown of Luck. Its easiest to get it with rebel because of the healing portals, so you dont have to worry about the post loop crazyness with the other characters at 1 hp!
A good point is being made here: Rebel’s passive heal kicks in after Crown of Luck robs you of your health, meaning you’ll heal back to half health. Something to consider for you Vault raiders out there!
Alright so I actually went ahead and tried this and I can confirm that you can unlock Crowns with this! That makes getting post-loop Crowns way easier.
Have any tips for a melee-only run?
Y.V. is probably the best melee character in my opinion, since you get more attack speed which means more swings which leads to more bullet deflection, the true strength of melee weapons. Y.V. also gets to go to the Crib which is a pretty big deal since you’ll most likely get a good melee weapon that way.
For Mutations you naturally want Long Arms but Stress and Trigger Fingers are also very good for more swinging. (I’d argue that having one of them is almost essential) You should probably get Boiling Veins too, since you’ll often be close to things that are exploding.
