Yo! So I have been thinking about this in the past 24 hoursā¦
Not a long post or anythingā¦butā¦given Suzueās undying loyalty and desire to be by Daisukeās sideā¦
The above scene was the ONLY time she has ever truly blushed. When Daisuke came homeĀ ā¤ļø
The reason this was so much more profound;
a) That hand holding scene with Daisuke
b) That bed scene with Daisuke
Those intimate scenes, no matter how sexualised it was, would have given Suzue the opportunity to go all blushy and excited. But it was treated with moreĀ āprofessionalismā relating to HEUSC and nothing else.
c) Do you remember in all other circumstances when Daisuke was in physical danger? Suzue does care for him and she would try and help him/save his life, but she did not go to the extent she did in Episode 4.
You may think it was because he had access to HEUSC and therefore he was able to communicate with Suzue, which was why Suzue was less concerned. Not true. Remember in Episode 9 where Daisukeās communication device/earring was destroyed? Yes, Suzue was worried, but she did not go berserk.
Remember in the embassy episode where Suzue rode her motorbike in an attempt to save Daisuke? She was worried about him, but still, she did not go berserk like she did in Episode 4.
d) And do you remember when Daisuke was emotionally troubled by the sudden reappearance ofĀ āShigemaru?ā and when he raised his voice at Suzue? Still, Suzue understood that it was not directed at her but it was his anger and frustration in general. She did not go to the extent she did in Episode 4.
Whatās the difference? When you compare the above scenes with scenes from Episode 4, Episode 4 was more personal. Daisuke was angry AT Suzue, which hit on a different level. It affected her more in that sense, because Daisukeās feelings toward HER was more important. She valued what he thought of her.
This just shows that Suzueās feelings toward Daisuke bypassed infatuation. It was deep. It was more wholesome, genuine and pure.
And that heart stamp on this virtual letterā¦
Look, I know the anime fucked her up and I know it was a shit piece overall, but I am going to take a moment to appreciate all the subtle signs they put in ..specifically in relation to how Suzue felt about Daisukeā¦
And it may not be as overt as the novel was, but it was nevertheless thereā¦
This woman truly loved Daisuke and that is canon enough for me š
