Okay but does anyone know what it means for BTS to have a diplomatic passport? Cause I’m dying to tell you.

First, diplomatic passport aren’t given unless you’re an active government official (so even if you are a diplomat, you need to go through a very strict process of getting officially appointed by a receiving country or organisation in order to be given one and make use of it)

I don’t think they’ll be able to use it for touring unless it was states that those activities count as official envoys by the Korean government. But you know, regular overseas schedule should count as that.

Diplomatic passports mean:

1. They are given extra security, first level, for when they travel anywhere in the world.

2. They get to skip airport security. Diplomatic passport run on the precept of bona fide meaning that since they are already appointed by such a difficult document, the world trusts them to do everything within the law.

3. They have the right to what is called a diplomatic case, which is basically a piece of baggage that won’t get checked for any reason whatsoever.

4. Although I don’t think they’d need it, it grants them diplomatic immunity, meaning that there is no way they could get arrested when visiting another country and making use of it.

5. They get to buy everything their hearts desire and not pay a single tax when travelling around. Travel taxes that apply to overseas buying, that is.

Anyway this is such a big thing and it makes me so excited bc I know first hand how much it means to be granted one of those and it is really such a huge milestone in their careers. Plus it’s so attractive.
