I could say so much about Bon Iver but words can't explain how beautiful Justin Vernon's music is. His voice, his lyrics, everything is nothing but beautiful. His meaningful and thoughtful lyrics keep me hooked. It's great music for lonely days, rainy days, and even happy days. It's very thoughtful music that is calming to ears. If you enjoy chill and calm indie/folk music, Bon Iver is definately worth a listen! Some of my favorite tracks include his cover of I Can't Make You Love Me, For Emma, Calgary, Holocene, Skinny Love, and Michicant.
If I'm into nu-folk, what else should I check out?
Hello Anon! I don't really know you taste in music or what artists you already know and such so I apologize if I state artists that don't fit your taste or you already know of!
You should check out: I also gave you a song that I enjoy by that artist.
Fleet Foxes - Helplessnes Blues
Bon Iver - For Emma
Noah and the Whale - 2 Atoms and a Molecule
Iron and Wine - Naked as We Came
City and Colour - The Girl
Frank Turner - Substitute
The Decemberists - Don't Carry it All
Here are just some at the top of my head. If you enjoy or don't enjoy any of these, I would love to hear your opinions. I hope I've helped and have a great day anon!
Music always helps get me through tough times. It helps organize my thoughts.
Sitting alone, listening to music helps more than drugs will ever do.
The Kooks! A great British alternative band! They are definitely worth checking out. Junk of the Heart is a great track to check out!
The Wombats have got to be one of my favorite bands! They are a British alternative band with a sense of pop in their music that is just all around great and fun to listen to. I love their voices and their sound. If you enjoy the Vaccines, or the Strokes, give the Wombats a listen! Some of my favorite tracks include 1996 and Jump into the Fog, all featured in their latest album. Walking Disasters is another great track. Give them a listen or if you already have listened to them, I wanna hear your opinions on them!
Thanks for the follow! your blog is great, loved the idea:)
Aw thank you! Thanks for the follow back! If you have any music ideas/opinions/suggestions, hit me up! I love answering them!
This is me.
Oops. I forgot to introduce my musical tastes.
I think before I start a music blog, I should let introduce you to my taste in music. I listen to literally every genre of music. I'm not restricted to only one genre. Music is something that we all should be open about and open to new musical styles. I enjoy alternative/indie, pop punk, country, rap, dubstep, pretty much everything. I am always open to new music, regardless of the genre.
Some (not even close to all) of my favorite artists:
Bon Iver, The Wombats, The Maine, Big Sean, Hoodie Allen, The Avett Brothers, Fleet Foxes, The Vaccines, The Smiths, Travis Porter, Kid Cudi, Tyga, Luke Bryan, Skrillex, Flux Pavillion, Chiddy Bang, MGMT, The Strokes, The Kooks, The Cab, Cold War Kids, Iron and Wine, and so so so much more!
If anyone needs any music suggestions, feel free to message me!
I get it. It's an old song. But so what? It's a great song! I love the meaning behind this song especially. It's about.... Skinny Love (obviously from the title). The line, "Come on skinny love, just last the year" kind of gives us a hint on what skinny love is. It's love that doesn't have substance. It can come from the idea of loving love or wanting love that you are willing to create this false love with nothing behind. Being in love with the idea of being in love is something that in today's society is very common. Love should be sacred and not something that you create just because you lust for it. Justin Vernon, thank you for writing this beautiful piece of music.
This song is simply beautiful. The melody. The lyrics. They are all beautiful and have the most calming sense to them. I have never read the Hunger Games so I don't get the relevance of it but who cares. It's a great song! Just leave just because you see that Taylor Swift sings it. Give a chance because the Civil Wars are amazing also.
Hey!
I'm here to introduce myself and this is my music blog that I want to get started and hopefully it takes off. The world of music is so immense. I have so many different opinions and thoughts on music and I'm sure you do too. If you have opinions or suggestions, don't be afraid to share them with me! I am always open to new ideas.
