hi can you please explain your post about lottielee? what kind of purity you think laura lee represents that lottie has been searching

Hi! I was basically just thinking about the scene of Lottie and her parents, and how Lottie is seen as “messed up” and ill, and how she’s being put on all these medications and going through electroshock therapy (hence, the purity being forced on her).

Laura Lee is a more natural approach to Lottie’s wellness. I think she kick starts Lottie’s deep spirituality. Although it can be argued that Laura Lee’s faith was flawed, I think she gave Lottie a spirituality that she needed.

It’s sort of hard for me to explain my thoughts, so I hope this makes sense! Thanks for asking this!

Idk who needs to hear this but: if you gave yourself the “ally” title you’re not really an ally, you just like the idea of being a good person. Active listening and learning is what “earns” you that title if you care about being called it.
