🌱 Imbolc Plans 🌼

Today (2 Days Before)

🔨 Cut open 10, gallon sized plastic jugs thats I’ve been saving & poke holes in bottom

🌈 Paint them~

Tomorrow (1 Day Before)

🌱 Purchase seeds & potting soil

🌾 Mix dirt w/ egg shells and fruit scraps & prep recyled jugs to be flower pots

🍯 Buying candles & maybe some flowers for the house

Imbolc ( Feb 1st )

☀ Wake up & open all the curtains to let in the light (weather permitting)

🍋 Taking a citrus bath & drinking lemon water throughout the day

🍊 Things like grapefruit, eggs, seeds, oranges, (almond) milk, potato stew, and lemon bars are on the menu!

✨ Honoring Frejya by leaving out food stations in known stray cat hubs

🍡 Filling empty citris fruits with seeds and leaving for birds & squirrels

🌄 Illuminating the house with candles at night

I’m so ready to signal to spring that its time to come out now. Its been bitterly cold and I look forward to sunny days and flower buds ahead. I know I have a lot planned but if you’re a baby witch, in the broom closet, or just busy- don’t be afraid to celebrate in little ways. I’m fortunate enough to have my own home with someone who is willing to celebrate the holidays with me, and Friday off work to do it.

If you need an idea for practicing in a much smaller way: eat your favorite citrus fruit and then leave bird seed or a candle in the peel. Or just offer the peel up with a vigorous yeeting into nature so spring can find her way to you.

Emotional Healing Spell

The past few months have been hard on everyone, and I’ve had friends lose loved ones, go to the hospital, struggle with suicidal thoughts, struggle with depression, and have horrible fights with people they love. What else can a witch do but find a spell to ease their pain?

I piggybacked off of the Simple Healing Spell by @the-heretic-witch and worked with another witch, Jo (whose WordPress blog can be found here) to create a spell that would be a good healing spell for emotional wounds.

Ingredients:

FOR THE BASE SPELL BY @the-heretic-witch

Taglock for the person you want to heal

Rose quartz chips

White or blue candle

FOR THE SPELL JAR (by me)

Small glass bottle with cork top

Ash from vanilla incense (I used cone, but stick works fine too!) // Love, happiness, healing

Chamomile // Love, calm, anti-anxiety, healing, banishing of negativity

Rose petals // Love, sweet dreams, self-love, calm, healing, offering to Aphrodite

Elderberry // Potency, healing, banishing of negativity

Lemon verbena // Purification, love, blessing

@healing-sun-witch Sun Salts // Offering to Apollo

Red/white/pink candle // Love

WHAT TO DO FOR BASE SPELL:

Put your taglock under the candle. This can be a photo, a piece of paper with their name, anything that corresponds to your intended person

Surround your white/blue candle with the rose quartz chips (I just surrounded with rose quartz pieces)

Visualize a pink ring of healing and love around your candle, fill the circle with your intent. Imagine the healing light entering your candle, filling your candle with healing and love.

When you’re ready, dedicate your circle to whatever deities you choose, and consecrate it as a healing circle.

“In the name of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, and Apollo, God of Health, I consecrate this circle as one of healing and love.”

Light your candle

“Magic mend, candle burn. Mental anguish end, good health return.”

Repeat as many times as you wish until you feel the spell has done its job

WHAT TO DO FOR THE JAR:

Keep the candle lit

Light the pink/white/red candle

Fill the jar with all the ingredients, thinking of your intent with each

Place the jar within the healing circle

Leave to charge until the blue/white candle burns out (I used a tea light)

Once the jar is full, place the cork in the top, and cover with wax from the red/white/pink candle
