2026 Summer PARTY for Inglis Community Residents
Residents' Concern: Inadequate Snow Removal and Accessibility Issues at Inglis Garden
This is a message to IHC regarding the poor snow removal services recently performed at Inglis Garden in Eastwick. Many residents are dissatisfied with the inadequate clearing of common areas around the building. Several walkways remain covered in snow and ice, creating unsafe conditions.
Of particular concern is the wide sidewalk connecting the ramp in front of the manager’s office to the ramp across the parking lot. This pathway was left completely uncleared, making it extremely difficult and potentially dangerous for wheelchair users and pedestrians to navigate the area safely.
I had a medical appointment, and I also observed that the main building entrance did not have a properly cleared area to accommodate CCT (paratransit) vehicle pickups. As a result, the driver was forced to park the large vehicle on Mario Lanza Boulevard, where there was very limited space to deploy the ramp safely. This situation could have been avoided with adequate snow removal directly in front of the building.
Inglis Garden Administration should take into consideration, after every snowstorm, the importance of thoroughly clearing all areas residents rely on for mobility, particularly those used by individuals with disabilities. Ensuring sufficient cleared space for CCT vehicles to safely lower ramps and pick up wheelchair users is essential.
Hopefully, Inglis Garden management will address these issues as soon as possible. Here are photos documenting the areas that require immediate attention, as well as locations where designated, cleared space is needed for paratransit vehicle access.
Request for Cleaning and Pest Control in Laundry Rooms E1 and E2
The laundry rooms in buildings E1 and E2 require immediate attention, as it appears they have not been cleaned regularly.
Last week, I had to use the E2 laundry room because the floor in E1 was covered with a large puddle of water, creating a serious slipping hazard. Additionally, the E2 laundry room was very dirty, with stains on the floor that looked like spilled coffee or another dark-colored drink. There were also leaves scattered across the floor and other areas that clearly had not been cleaned in some time.
I would also like to bring to management's attention that one of the residents found a live cockroach inside one of the dryers in the E1 laundry room. This was extremely unpleasant and indicates a potential pest issue. For this reason, The Community is requesting that management contact the pest control company to fumigate both laundry rooms, inside and out.
Maintenance Matters: Why Property Upkeep Reflects Management’s Values
The Inglis Garden at Eastwick 1 & 2 property suffers from a severe lack of maintenance. A company hired by Inglis House Corporation left a significant mess of dirt in the hallways, obstructing paths for residents and those in wheelchairs, and failed to clean it up.
Despite the company's neglect, residents expected the maintenance staff to use a pressure hose to clean the dirt. However, for weeks, the area has remained dirty and stained with mud. Management has not instructed the maintenance staff to address this issue, highlighting a significant lack of attention to detail and property upkeep. Many residents of E1 and E2 interpret this neglect as a reflection of management's disrespectful view of them, believing management perceives them as uncaring about their living environment. In contrast, many residents desire a clean, well-maintained living space where management demonstrates respect and understanding.

Report: Water Puddle and Obstruction in Dumpster Room
A safety concern was observed on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in the dumpster room. Upon entering, a resident discovered a significant puddle of water on the floor, posing a slip hazard. Additionally, an appliance was left obstructing the passageway to the trash disposal area.
A resident reached out to the property manager to request that the individual responsible for maintaining the dumpster room be reminded to keep the floor dry to prevent accidents.
A photo illustrating the issue is attached for your reference.
Concern Regarding Recent Lighting Changes at Eastwick 1
The residents want express their concern regarding the recent change in lighting in the laundry area aisles. On may 6, 2025, some residents from Inglis Garden E1 observed that the large, bright lights were replaced with smaller lights that provide significantly less illumination. It is unclear who authorized this change, but the new lights do not adequately light the area, resulting in noticeably darker conditions at night.
While we understand and appreciate that Inglis House Corporation may be working toward upgrading to more modern lighting systems, any changes made should improve conditions rather than diminish them. Proper lighting is essential, particularly for residents with limited visibility, and dimly lit areas increase the risk of trips or accidents.
Additionally, as Inglis House Corporation is aware, safety is a major concern for many residents of our community. Ensuring well-lit pathways and communal spaces is a key part of maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.
One of the residents took photos to document the lighting conditions and illustrate how insufficient the new lights are.
Sanitation Concern – Improper Disposal of Urine Bags
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, evening, around 6:20 PM, I came across two leg bags filled with urine discarded on the ramp in front of your office in E1. The bags were leaking, causing urine to spill onto the floor. This is not the first time this has occurred, and it is concerning that the issue has not been addressed with the seriousness it warrants, as it poses a significant sanitation and health risk. Human urine can contain bacteria and potential pathogens, creating an unsafe environment, especially in a community where children frequently play near this area.
Proper disposal of urine bags—whether bedwetting bags or leg urine bags—should involve emptying them into a toilet, cleaning them with soap and water, and then disposing of them in the trash. IHC should be actively communicating this procedure to all residents of Eastwick 1 and 2 to prevent similar incidents in the future.
While I understand that monitoring cameras to identify the responsible party may not be feasible, I strongly encourage your office to issue a memo addressing this incident and consider discussing it as an agenda item at your next meeting.
Unsanitary and Unusable Laundry Cart in Eastwick 1 Laundry
Regarding the extremely unsanitary condition of the blue laundry cart in the [E1/E2 - specify which] laundry room. The cart is consistently dirty, and covered in old fabric scraps, cobwebs, and other debris. This has been an ongoing issue, and despite repeated requests from residents to the administration for the cart to be cleaned or replaced, no action has been taken.
It is unacceptable that residents are expected to use such a dirty and neglected piece of equipment. We urge IHC to address this issue and either have the cart thoroughly cleaned or provide a new, clean cart for resident use. The continued disregard for this request is disappointing and reflects poorly on the management of the property.
