Adding petite little daisies to this artwork
This artwork is about halfway done. I’m thinking of adding some white flowers on top after I’m done with the green 🌿

So grateful to have my artwork on the cover of the Japanese Translation of “Alligator and Other Stories” by Dima Alzayat. Thank you to publisher Tokyo Sogensha for doing such a great job with the jacket design!
This is the first papercut I ever created. Originally it was a gift for my sister-in-law who loves New York City. It wasn’t until afterward that I realized I was on to something...Something about the process resonated deeply with me. So I kept going. Made more and more. And now here I am 7 years later, still cutting paper.
I’m remembering this artwork today as I start a new piece. I titled it “Revelation” for reasons totally unrelated to my art practice, and yet it ended up being a revelation for that too, a signal of a new direction I desperately wanted to pursue. I’m still finding my way, but this was the jumping-off point. (Revelation, handcut paper and graphite, 2018)
