#Repost@mctommypictures ・・・ I couldn't hold back my eyes when i sight this beautiful creation and wonders of God at Igbeti, Oyo State. Thank God I was with my Canon.
#Repost@olawaleakadiri My recent visit to Igbeti last Saturday was memorable. This wasn't just a regular academic/field work visit, this was much like tourism because all our expectations were met and even surpassed.😀 .I was in awe of the abundant blessing God has endowed on this town. The beautiful area view from the top of the rocks and the interesting deep history of this town's existence. 👼👼 .Nicknamed "The Marble City" due to the discovery of a large natural deposit of marble stones in its purest form, this town stands so special among various other Yoruba towns. .Geographically, this town lies within 16 attractive volcanic rocks and mountains that forms part of the Yoruba hills and historically, the first settlers here was the progeny of Alaafin Sango, a descendant of god and goddess of the numerous hills. .History also has it that a one-time prince of this town got angry and turned into a stone after being accused of stealing🙊🙈😱. The white statue in this image is a historical representation to testify of this fact. .Although, it was so painful not to have met the King of this town on this visit😭, still, we were attended to by close relations to the King and palace servants and it was unarguably fulfilling taking a picture of the Oba Onigbeti Palace in Igbeti.
