The way I see it is that if Dwayne wasn’t trying to Whitley, he knew he was dead ass wrong. So it was way more than trying to get intellectual. He could have had an intellectual conversation with Kim if he was that desperate for it.

Dwayne was legit holding hands with this woman and staring into her eyes. Ol girl from Avery KNEW he was engaged and called Whitley his “girlfriend” and this fool didn’t even correct her. Dwayne complained about “what happened to just dating” and RON had to explain to him that you can’t just “date” someone after you propose to them. Dwayne had fucking RON JOHNSON of all people telling him he was fucking up. Like when the KING of fuckboys is telling you that you fucked up you know you did some straight grimy shit. If Kim hadn’t caught him, I bet he wouldn’t have told Whitley, I bet he would’ve continued seeing ol girl and I BET he would’ve slept with her AND STILL marry Whitley with no type of remorse. And yall are not gonna sit here and act like Whitley’s a fucking idiot or some dummy that gets confused by all the books and smart talk when she graduated cum laude. Just because she thinks his math jokes are corny don’t mean she isn’t an intellectual. He could’ve had an intellectual conversation with her if he would’ve made time to spend with her instead of making time to go sneak around with other women.

And wasn’t his ass failing courses outside of his math major while Whitley aced every one of hers (even that math course she struggled in) her freshman year.Whitley may have been superficial but the girl was not vapid.

And she loved his ass soooo fuckin much. Dwayne better be lucky Whitley loved his ass like she did because my petty ass woulda married Byron got his ass to senate then to the presidency and when I was First Lady I’d meet up with Dwayne for coffee one evening and when he turns the topic on what went wrong with us, I’d ask him how his intellectual equal was doing?

Let’s not act like Dwayne wasn’t just as misogynistic as Ron with his view on gender roles among other things. And he was such a petulant ass child the only reason he wanted Whitley back is when he saw her with other men, he was a walking example of the kids that puts down his toy but when he sees another kid playing with it demands for it back.

People thought Whitley was stupid as hell because she was rich and an art history major. Was she spoiled? Yes. Was she problematic? Yes. But she had great character development and actually took all that college has to offer to be better. I won’t even get on how studies show that people with humanities and arts backgrounds do well in STEM and how a liberal arts background is more realistic of the world. Therefore these people have great critical thinking skills, intellectualism, problem solving skills and are generally able to have well rounded conversations.

Even though they were my first otp Dwayne was not as perfect as he assumed. Not to mention he let his mama talk to her sideways. After they got married, he did that neglecting shit when he would get busy with school and teaching not to say it isn’t time consuming and draining. Nigga make time for your partner if you care.

I just hate they always had her with a dude downplaying her intelligence. Julian anyone when he wanted her to move to DC…
