photo text: I am absolutely amazed at the generosity shown to our students by all of your amazing donations and words of support.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping make our trip possible.  The donations for our trip, in less than 24 hours, have far surpassed what we thought would happen when we set up our account and we now have more than enough money to make this an amazing trip for our students.  As such, I have disabled the donation portion of our account.  We do not want to take advantage of the generosity of such an amazing group of people.   We plan to share updates and photos of our trip when we go to Anchorage and Seward at the end of April so that any of our interested donors are able to see what their generosity made possible. Again, thank you all so very much for helping us make this trip possible for our students.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me right away or leave a comment on the gofundme account and I will answer as quickly as I can. I truly cannot imagine a better surprise. This was, like, a lifetime top surprise for me. I’m so proud of y’all and of our team. OF COURSE you all are reaching out to schools along the trail. It’s not hard to believe but it’s still a wonderful shock. What this race is all about.

Wow, Linda. Wow. I have seen nothing about patron sponsors or AK schools, but we arrived into the village of Nikolai tonight and went to get a key from principal to selep in the school. When she found out I’m Blair’s husband, she fiipped. Nearly had tears in her eyes bc school trip is fully funded, with extra for much needed clothes or additional time on the trip. That trip will be a lifelong memory and transformative for teh 4th graders of Nikolai. I have very few waking minutes right now with internet access, so please feel free to share this message with Ugly Dogs. Thank you so much for your encouragement and support. These villages and their elders and kids are what the race is all about to me. Nothing could mean more than bringing Ugly Dog love and magic here.#

These old things are lethal. Not only do kids fall into them and get banged up, but also one girl got her hair caught and got hurt. New chairs are for comfort, stacking convenience, and above all, safety.

Thank you so very much for your support of our project. These chairs are a welcome addition to our library as they will be used for all of our school functions and people will be much more comfortable than with our old chairs. Having access to folding chairs is also a huge plus, as our storage space is very limited. All the students will be able to set them up and take them down with ease. Our younger students always want to help and this will be one more task they can safely perform. Thanks again for your generosity and support. With gratitude, Mrs. Smith

Soon the thirteen picture books including I'm Like You, You're Like Me: A Book About Understanding and Appreciating Each Other and All Are Welcome will arrive and we can begin reading and discussing them. And then my students can use the chromebook you gave them to research different cultures and take electronic field trips.
