After an eventful day with their son, itâs time for Faith and Ignatius to talk to their son about them sharing a bed.
Ignatius had been able to shower, get dressed, and make his bed via magic before his son came home from spending the evening with his Auntie Lani and Uncle Roman. The two were pleased to bring him back it seemed since he was a giant ball of energy. The two of them were not quite used to it and they tended to be more mellow (for the most partâŠ). Still, Ignatius and Faith were excited to see their son and welcome him home, especially since the two of them had something to talk to him about.
They had decided, of course, to talk to him after a day of family time. Avery had decided that they wanted play games and listen to music all day, meaning that they partially played games but also danced around the kitchen to whatever music came on the radio (which was mostly 80s music since Ignatius loved the 80s). After several hours of that, the family had made dinner together after cleaning up the games, but kept the music on so that they could all dance around the kitchen as they cooked together.
It had honestly been the perfect day to get ready to talk to Avery about Ignatius and Faith sharing a bed and sharing a room. It was something that they had yet to breach with Avery and while the boy hadnât asked his father about it, he had asked his Aunt Lani, Uncle Roman, and apparently his mother as well. So, this was going to be anâŠinteresting conversation.
So once dinner was cleaned up and any leftovers were put away, Ignatius gave Faith a look to tell her that he would let her take the reigns here since, well, he wasnât quite as experienced as she was in breaking news to their son.

Ignatius watched as his son thought about his question for a moment, on whether he wanted to help him or his mother. In the end, he grinned at him and asked if he could help him. âAbsolutely,â he said with a smile before Faith said that she would go and start sorting through her things in her room. He nodded to her before she set off towards her room. It left the two boys alone, which normally would end up devolving into goofy shenanigans. But right now the two had a plan, they needed to get his room ready for Faith to join him so Avery grabbed his fatherâs hand and the two were off towards Igâs room.
The two reached Ignatiusâ bedroom and before they could get started, Avery spoke, causing Ignatiusâ heart to stop in his chest before he looked over at his son. He blinked at the question he had just asked him. He asked him why he didnât want to get married and Ignatius wasnât sure for a moment how to answer his question, and thought about his sonâs question. It wasnât that he didnât want to get married, he did, more than anything, but he was far more impulsive than Faith was in the matter, and as she reminded him regularly (not that he minded), they had to think of their son.
Despite how it was obvious Avery wanted them to be married. Like yesterday.
Avery then asked his father if he would change his bedding, making him smile and laugh softly. âI was thinking your mom and I could pick out new sheets, yes,â he said before gently squeezed his sonâs hand. âAnd I would love nothing more than to marry your mother. Iâve wanted to marry her for the longest time. I think I was ready to get married before she was back in the day,â he said with a soft chuckle. âBut, itâs not a one person decision to get married, your mother has to agree, and she likes to think things through. Weâll talk about, donât you worry,â he said with a small smile as he looked at his son.
âYou want to see something cool?â He asked his son with a grin, eyes shining with mischief as he pulled his wand from his pocket.
