i'm one of the many new members, and i feel like i'm just getting lost in the shuffle. i've posted in people's shippers and only one person got back to me, and any time i talk in the cbox i'm overshadowed by the people who already know one another :( any advice?

I’m so sorry it’s like that, love. Why don’t you try speaking when the admins are around? Or plot with the admins, start posting in games, constantly spam your shipper in the cbox (we encourage that) and make sure people SEE you. Don’t let a big site intimidate you.

I know with a lot of people knowing each other, it can seem scary, but please don’t feel that way. We’re all a big ass family and we love each other so much. So revel, join in, and if anyone dares to ignore you, they’ll have to go through me.

If you guys are non-binary friendly, how does the reserve system and the ratio system work with non-binary characters or faces?

Good question! It’s actually been a big topic of discussion amongst the staff because we want to make sure every member is comfortable as a part of the community within the site. To curb the major issue, we’ve decided to do away with gender ratios completely (the only reason we have the ratios in the reserves NOW is because of the massive surplus of females coming through). Characters on the board are not defined by gender other than a small section in the custom profile where you can enter in preferred pronouns. That said, our face claim IS currently defined by males and females. Why? Because it’s the face and gender of that actual person you’re claiming, not the character. And you just don’t see non-binary faces used all that often in the roleplay community. If we need to change up our claim in the future to accommodate, we’d be more than happy to. But for now, this is what we’ve decided<3
