Yes, there are. There are the FBA and the Modeling Club. Students also have the opportunity to start their own clubs, so if you donât see something youâd like to pursue, keep that in mind!

Does NYU have a band?
NYU has ensembles, jazz ensembles, and a concert band. There may be more, but thatâs what I found through a quick search.
So does NYU look at your freshman and sophomore year grades because I was looking at another college and they said that you should send in either your Junior year first or second semester grades and your senior year.
Colleges tend to focus more on your junior year and first/second marking periods of your senior year when you apply. They will eventually see your entire high school transcript, but those later years are usually the most important.
What are the requirements in order to get into the computer science major. Like is it the same as any other major?
To my knowledge, there arenât any requirements that need to be fulfilled prior to applying to NYU for the computer science major.
What school had the pre med program?
Pre med/prehealth is in CAS.
Hey! I'm trying to figure out how to tackle the "Why NYU?" question. I could list a thousand reasons, but when it comes to writing a response in essay format, knowing that admissions will read if, I get lost! Is there anything they're looking for in particular?
Hi there!
Theyâre looking for you to answer the question; thatâs really it. Thatâs also why itâs so difficult. My advice is to be you. Make sure you answer every question that is posed on the application, but answer it in your way. You get a very limited amount of time to show them who you really are, so use it. For example, if you like to write narratives, write one. Make characters and use dialogue if youâre comfortable doing so. Maybe you write poetry, so write it all in iambic pentameter. If you just want to write a structured essay, write the hell out of that essay. Whatever you do, just make sure you put yourself into it and donât try to be someone youâre not. When I was writing my essays, I tried to not use the first answer that came into my head because I figured that would be a common response and I wanted to get away from the common. If youâre having issues, make a list and just jot down all of the reasons why you want to be at NYU. Come back to that list and see if anything really jumps out at you as a way to put an essay together. It may not be a typical response, and thatâs absolutely okay. People donât always remember typical.

I am canadian and I want to get into nyu what do i do will it be difficult? ?
It wonât be anymore difficult than if you were applying as an American student, really. Youâll just have to make sure that you have all of the requirements submitted, including standardized test scores. If your academics are up to par with what NYU is looking for, then youâll be in a good spot.

Hi! I want to apply to NYU for the MA program in art therapy. I've already applied to EVMS (visited there) and was really wowed by the school but not the area. I love NYC but I don't know much about the program. Any tips to get more info/when to visit? Thank you!

If you havenât already, really look through the website. There is a lot of information on the faculty, courses, and Steinhardt in general. I would also contact Steinhardt for more information! If youâre looking to visit, I would definitely sign up for a campus visit and also contact the school and see if you could sit in on a class or at least visit with someone from the program. Whether that can happen usually depends on the school/programs, but itâs definitely worth it to ask! If you can, visit when school is in session so that you can get a feel for what the facilities and area will be like if you were to attend NYU. Itâs a much different area when students are in school than when theyâre not and itâs always good to see what a building is like when itâs full of students.

Iâm sorry this is so delayed; I hope itâs not too late for you!
The advice that I generally give is to just be yourself and also think outside of the box. At the time when youâre completing applications, youâve already done all that you can do academically. Youâve picked your classes and gotten the grades that you have. What you can do is choose good teachers for letters of recommendation and focus on your essay(s). For the essay, Iâm going to direct you to this post where I gave some advice on how to answer it. What I essentially say is to show them who you are through the content and structure. You donât get a lot of space to show the colleges who you are on an application, so use the little places you are given. Try to think outside of the box when you answer questions. Show them youâre unique and make them listen to you.
One definite thing you should do though, is double and triple check your writing. Make sure there are absolutely no spelling or grammatical mistakes. Those are huge mistakes that can really cost you on something as important as an application, so just really check over everything before you submit. Also keep track of the deadlines!
