I like consistency

But the only consistency I find with you is how you disappear for a week at a time, you disappear without a word. You tell me you’re here for me but when I call you do not answer unless I make some kind of dramatic gesture or storm that you feel you must respond to. Then you pull me close and act like you weren’t absent and call me to tell me goodnight and text me to see how I am. It pulls me in and every time I idiotically think it will stay that way until the days come where you’re nowhere to be found once again. I know you better than I know myself and I’ve been trying to get closer to myself, to love myself the way I wish you or anybody out there would... and when I do what is best for me I again begin to cut the ties between you and I. That’s how this dance goes. That’s how this dance has been going for years. But I’m getting stronger and I promise you that when I love myself so unconditionally and consistently the way I need I will cut the ties and there will be no more dance because I’ll finally realize I’m all that I need. Until then I’ll let you take the lead.
