Great trip to see the angel created from knives ... Beautiful in one way and not in another ! The crane 🏗 is a bonus !
Then popped to see the “TOO CUTE” exhibition by Rachel Maclean .. loved the intro She’s created .. exhibition is weird and wonderful.. a few David Shrigley drawings in there (small) ..nice day out ..
hope to be in London Tuesday-Thursday.. mission to see galleries if all goes to plan

Finalizing my individual project notes ... lovely weather and bird song with a cup of matcha tea lol bliss ! Here comes the Sun 🌞 do do do do ! ( The Beatles ) if your not familiar.

Done .. although there is another which doesn’t show development work and just finished pieces so there is a mix
Finished Individual project components “World Campaign For Kindness 17/4/19
Finished all elements although not sure how it will be presented and there should in theory ( as it’s recorded ) be an audio. Discussed with technical staff and created its now down to curator and discussing how to present.
Finalizing Portfolio 15/4/19
Nearly there .. just need to frame works in portfolio.. just placed my photography session photos in place ... they were a tad dark so increased brightness in photoshop and also preferred them in black and white so desaturated them.
Ignore the poor photos of the photos .. see beyond lol ... as I say I’m not a photographer lol 😝 My take on Cindy Sherman and Erwin Wurm.
Last taught session 10/4/19
We had to evaluate a photography subject to give us a feel for what to expect next year. It’s a case of looking at good bad what did it do differently etc ... analyze and constructively record. This is the photos we had to evaluate.
Now it’s to work over the time before hand in date to complete and tidy all the works and portfolio.
Photography session 9/4/19
We did our photography session today .. Lots of props and dressing up to support the session. It was great to have 2 final years students helping which I found much nicer and they were much more supportive of us only wanting to get the best out of the session. They gave us tips on focus light positioning also which buttons to press and why which is essential in photography. No photos of the actual photos yet as these will be reviewed tomorrow and we will have copies. The lighting and back drop makes all the difference to the outcome .. Black and white backgrounds were used and these changed the mood so much. Close up and distance photos also impacted on the outcome and drama etc of the image. All photos see ID related and there was a diverse approach. I chose my lollipop masks.
Interesting talk on student employment and volunteering etc from the uni Emloyment team. If people want to work abroad or teach in China there are opportunities for those that may suit which is an excellent opportunity for those who want to.

Talk Fine Art & Catalogue Issuu 8/4/19
Today we had an interesting talk on from Beth a former FA MA student who recently finished her degree. It was informative and interesting as she discussed afterward things I wanted to know about ref FA degree. Looking through her very small sketch books was good too.
She now has a studio in Wolverhampton where she works from and has also just finished a residency at Walsall gallery.
Later we had an IT session with Martin where he covered ISSUU a digital online publishing website where I uploaded my catalogue.
Photography ideas
I’ve been working on ideas for my photography workshop .. see what happens ... I take rubbish photos in general and only use my phone .. only playing to my strength in this humorous take on it .. see what happens with it !?
Really freaky but It amuses me! Liking it ! It reminds me of one of my favorite Disney rides in Florida ... and one of the horror films I remember whilst growing up .. Halloween 🎃
I do have a plan B if this isn’t a goer ... much less horrific lol
Photography workshop 3/4/19
We were introduced to the photography project which will be ID. We were shown a PowerPoint ... an introduction to the subject then asked to go away and think of ideas on how we can create a photograph representing either our ID or someone else. Here are a few photographs from the PP.
Audio and print 2/3/19
Had a fraught morning starting with a puncture .. then disaster with printed art work ... 3 times ! Fingers crossed for next print ?! May resort to silk screen ?? Ended the day thanks to Martin sorting the audio for the end of year show so something achieved !
The Fountain 1/4/19
Maggie’s lecture focus on a major point in history with relation to art.
The artist Duchamp ( R Mutt) created a piece of art that simply a men’s urinal signed by pseudonym R Mutt. This was important as it turned art on its head and was the start of a tone when an “idea” was the point and not just a pretty picture. It was a start of a time when artist created art which allows the public to think .. why and what ? It was definitely a turning point a d many artist have followed in his footsteps ...ie Damian Hirst “Shark”
Risoprint and ceramics 27/3/19
We finished the 3rd session in illustration today using the risograph... I did as I was told as I have now idea what buttons I was pressing I just was advised ... easy if you know how I’m sure. I like the results ! Stock paper makes all the difference..I used white initially then tried a black then a brown and it was very different. I’d like to see some of those prints that were created by collage by fellow students as they looked super good before even the riso!
The prints are ok but I think I could do better with the design ... it’s a bit flat .. I think collaging with cut outs would be far better so can’t wait to see those students work who have created theirs that way !

I then spent the afternoon in ceramics creating using the decals I’ve had made and these need 24 hours rest then they can be fired at around 800 degrees .. not as high as glaze.
