This seems like a good idea. Giving the same kind of lights and turn signals to bikes that cars are capable of. Although hand signals can be used, it is more convenient to be able to use signal lights. Not everyone is comfortable removing their hands from the handlebars in order to signal.

I would definitely consider buying something like this.

Traffic Circles

I saw a driver make a left turn in a traffic circle today. Are you kidding me? Traffic circles are always counter clockwise (at least for us right side of the road drivers). What made it worse was that this was a traffic circle for bicycles mainly, not cars. And there was quite a bit of bike traffic.

I don't know if they are complete ignorant imbeciles or somehow do not understand proper traffic rules. Either way, they should not be on the road.

This incredibly smart individual (with massive amounts of sarcasm) then proceeds into a restricted area in order to try to turn around. The little way was only barely two car widths wide.

No idea what they were trying to do. Before they headed into the traffic circle, they were already facing the right way to head to the exit. They could have hurt someone, they just sped into the traffic circle.

Bicyclists on Roads

I hate the people who do not know how to drive their bikes on public roads. A bicycle is the same as any other vehicle on the road. You don't run a red light or a stop sign. And especially do not drive on the wrong side of the road.

I have seen many cyclists just run a red light so many times. It is unfortunate that they are not stopped. It is quite annoying.

Bicycles on the road do not get any special treatment or exemptions from the rules. Of course cars do need to be more careful around them due to higher damage ability, but that does not mean cyclists get free reign. Bicycles can cause a lot of damage in crashes and accidents too.

Bicycles are vehicles, and any vehicle on the road needs to act like one and obey the traffic rules.

Focus on your driving, not distractions

Especially at high speeds, looking away from the road can be dangerous. A lot of ground is covered in just a few seconds and you can easily miss turns or sudden stopped cars or even a person who walked out. The car is a weapon. Treat it as such. When a weapon is primed, you don't turn your focus elsewhere. You may end up hitting something unintentionally.

Pay Attention to the Car in Front of You

When driving, pay attention to the car in front of you. Doing this helps reduce traffic.

At stoplights, pay attention to when the light turns green then when the car in front starts moving, you start moving with them as well. I do not mean follow right on their tail, but do not sit in the same spot until they have completely cleared the light before you even think of moving either.

Traffic on highways would not be backed up for hours if people also learned to pay attention to the car in front of them. Do not suddenly slam on the brakes when the car in front slows down, and do not stay stopped when they are moving forward. Go slow and follow.

Merging Lanes

When two lanes are merging into one, the merging car goes after the car already in the lane. One and one. Simple. Car in lane, then merging car, then car in lane, then merging car.

Cars that are already in the lane where other cars are trying to merge into, do not be inconsiderate and block them from entering. That causes traffic.

Cars that are trying to merge, do not try to merge all at once. Poor planning also causes traffic.

Incompetent drivers do not understand this simple method. Just take turns and do not try to rush.

Use your Turn Signals

One of the things I hate the most about other people driving, is when they refuse to use their turn signals. Why is it so difficult to slightly move your hand to turn on the signal?

The turn signal is not some useless device in a car, it actually has a safety purpose. As mentioned, a car is a WEAPON. Your turn signals are to give a heads up to other drivers about what you are planning on doing.

You want to turn to the right at this street? Use your signal to let drivers behind you know that you are going to slow down.

The turn signals are especially important on the highways. If you start moving into another lane, you had best use your signal even if you think no one is close enough to you. The reason is that when you start moving without a signal, the other drivers have no idea if you are actually trying to move, or if you have fallen asleep at the wheel and should be considered dangerous.

The turn signal is so you can be predictable when driving. Don't be an inconsiderate jerk and leave others to guess at what you are trying to do.

I Hate Other Drivers

People seriously need to understand that a vehicle is just one giant weapon and they should treat it as such. Why would you ever operate a vehicle when you are not in full awareness and competence?

At slow speeds, a car can seriously injure not only someone that is run into, but the people in the car. At higher speeds, a car has the ability to basically obliterate any living thing that is unfortunate enough to be in the path.

If you are not competent enough to understand this, it would be better to do others a favor and absolutely do not drive vehicles. Being able to drive a car should be a high privilege, not a right for every careless and immature person.
