Okay, because of the confusion from partial tweets from the Team Wolf con in Paris, this is the exact transcript of Tyler’s answer to the Sterek question. I do have video proof of this moment, which I will post once I’m home.

He has been so excited and on board with Sterek in the past and like half the cast was shipping them and suddenly no one does and everyone in the cast either outwardly speaks against it or remains painfully obviously neutral. And okay if that’s not the case anymore then fine but this is the most painful thing I’ve ever read and would’ve rather heard something resembling coherence.
Oh and by the way, I’m not mad at his answer. That’s fine if that’s what he thinks. But I don’t really think he does. I think he pulled a neutral answer out of his ass to appease Jeff who seems to be on the warpath for Sterek.
I just want to know what Tyler actually thinks because don’t fucking tell me he has no opinion and this doesn’t sound much like an opinion.
Oh while I do believe he said this bc he HAD to say it and not bc he actually feels this way I don’t think Jeff is on the warpath for Sterek. It’s rather the other way around but he makes it look like it. He doesn’t want anyone to spoil anything. AT ALL. And that’s why Hoechlin obviously had to say certain things.
But I’d really like to hear his actual opinion too.
Maybe saying Jeff is on the warpath was a bit exaggerated lol, but something has seriously majorly changed in the atmosphere of the Sterek realm on the official side of things.
That’s definitely true, something has changed but it has happened as Sterek began to become canon. So that’s even more reason to think they are ignoring and avoiding Sterek to make us believe it won’t happen and to keep tension just to have the big BANG at the end. If Sterek wouldn’t happen and if it was just a fun fanon thing wouldn’t they talk more frankly about it?
Ah it was indeed a bit painful to read, Sterek was always supported by Dylan and Tyler and it feels quite weird and its a bit saddening that suddenly they don’t really like the ship. Its feels like all they did was fanservice just to get more people to watch the show and once the ship had a huge fanbase, they don’t care anymore and stop supporting the ship.
Also, I feels really awkward and a bit uncomfortable about the way he saids that him supporting Sterek would be disrespecting Derek. Why? Stiles is one of the chararcters who cares the most about Derek and who tried to find and help Derek.
You know what I really really hate about all the ships in fandom? IT’S ALWAYS THE GAY SHIPS THAT GET THE SHIT. They’ve been shoving Destiel down our throat for 6 seasons and giving stupid hints and scripts about a romance between them but whenever the subject comes to the table? Cast and crew try to sink the ship à la Titanic.
I don’t watch Sherlock but from all the gifs I saw from the past years and all the hints that were, also, shoved down the fans’ throat its obvious that there’s something there.
that’s the thing there’s always something there but they never make it canon and its infuriating!
Stiles is suppose to be bisexual but there’s no mentioning it in the plot. Its a perfect exemple of Sterek: We’ll make it as hot gay as possible but never canon. See all the gayness? Well there’s plenty gay and romance but we’ll never make it happen, ever but go and continue to vote for the ship and buy the DVDs and merch to support your ship that we’ll never make canon
I agree with you and I’m still craving the day on which slash ships will be treated equally as the het ships but until that happens we have to keep faith in Sterek bc it’s gonna be canon and it’ll be the first step to show the world that gay ships are not just something to joke about and to use whenever it pleases but to never actually take seriously. Sterek will be a milestone for slash ships and that’s just one of the many reasons to support it and not giving up on it.
