its pretty funny actually that after 25 years of scapegoating Lottie she dies and they all immediately go "hm who else is easy to blame? i know ! that other person we repeatedly isolated and demonised". and well shauna doesnt exactly help her case by biting people.

but you don’t get it. because do you mean shauna’s awfulness, her meanness, her violence doesn’t make sense? what do you mean ‘where did her softness go?’ ‘what happened her to guilt and vulnerability?’ it fucking gone! her best friend died an avoidable death. her baby didn’t even cry. her baby wasn’t even fucking hers, but a piece in the other’s wilderness cult. her teammates left her alone to butcher the body of a LITTLE BOY WEEKS AFTER SHE LOST HERS. all of their lives were turned into nothing but a sacrifice to the wilderness for the rest of them to survive. they felt entitled to the deaths she held the closest to her heart. of course she’s fucking angry and bitter and borderline psychotic. of course she’s hungry for the title of queen because what else does she have? what else, in the mind of a TEENAGE GIRL, could quell or at least mask some of the pain and make it at least seem worth something? why would she want to go home when her baby and best friend’s bones rested in the wilderness? why would she want to face a reality where she’s nothing but a tragic girl who was in a plane crash with a dead friend and dead baby that no one expect the team even knew existed? why? when she could be something that could never exist back home? fear was all she had felt for MONTHS. why should she not be entitled to be a little feared too? is it right? no. of course fucking not. it’s so unbelievably messed up. THAT’S THE POINT!

i wish the writers had made the pit girl scene more of what it was originally thought to be. girls who went insane while trying their best to survive. resorting to hunting their friends. reaching the point of no return. i loved this season, but i’m not very happy with how lottie and shauna are being portrayed as complete demons and everyone else are saints who never wanted to do any harm. it just doesn’t fit. in s4 i hope to see a majority of the yellowjackets become a smidge more animalistic before rescue arrives

Based on Tai and Misty’s conversation at the end of the episode (about Shauna being the problem and the carnage she inflicts). I think it’d be really interesting if we got the teen timeline from their perspective this season. Given how last season ended and even parts of the beginning of this season, I do find it shocking that by the end of the season the show is only paining Lottie and Shauna as the only ones to have really succumbed to the wilderness. While it makes sense for the two of them specifically, looking at how many of them were entrenched in Lottie’s religion last season and were involved in both Travis and Nat’s hunts. I don’t think it’d make complete sense for almost of them to seemingly just be the victims of Lottie and Shauna.

I think it’d be interesting if they set this season up to give us Tai, Van and Misty’s perspective, to set up why’d they want to kill her. Then next season we got Shauna’s perspective that showed the other girls were not as innocent as they appeared this season either, which would provide explanations for her paranoia arc this season. Because I do think it’s weird for them to drop all the girls are crazy are driving the madness and suddenly just make them all primarily innocent while Lottie and Shauna are the primarily instigators. Also, I do think the show has been decent at showing that everything is not what seems and the girls can be unreliable narrators at times as a result of their brains trying to protect themselves from trauma.

Overall, I while I completely adore Shauna and Lottie redemption arc or not. I do think it’s not a great look to remove culpability and responsibility from most of the other characters and pin all the bad that happened on the unmedicated schizophrenic and teenage girl who’s in the middle of postpartum psychosis and likely some other disorder. And this isn’t to say Shauna and Lottie aren’t responsible for the harm they do, they absolutely are, however removing the others completely cuts out the parts of seasons 1 and 2 where the others are sometimes the driving force that they get them to where they are by the end of season 3.

i hope in season 4 they expand on how the girls have made shauna the scapegoat for all the crazy shit they’ve done and will continue to do. they could easily stop her, but they won’t. the girls made her into a weapon of death and destruction and told her to find peace afterward like it’s the easiest thing. they like to act like they’re innocent bystanders through it all, but they’re not. they’re completely complicit. natalie’s the only one who took any sort of public stance against shauna in recent times
