Esalen, Big Sur. California.
I’m not sure why I was feeling obsessed with photographing myself lighting a Palo Santo stick on Sunday but I just went with it...I think because the light was beautiful, and fire always fun/dangerous to photograph.
I did some lighting tests today in my living room. Had some fun with it and kinda liked this pic I took of myself by the end of it.
A few weeks ago I was interviewed by A Photo Editor for the Daily Edit about my Bloomberg Businessweek Gem Show article. So honored to have made it onto the Daily Edit. Read the full interview about how the story came about here.
Two more from Angie Smith. #angiesmith She shot these at a lobster festival in LA. #pdnpromos #pdnpromoswekept
PDN Promos We Kept blogged about my latest promo...the fold out Lobster Postcard set. Love you guys too, thank you! <3
I did some testing up in Portland Or earlier in the year. I worked with a few models from Sports and Lifestyle Unlimited Agency. It was funnnnnn.
I shot a photo essay for Bloomberg BusinessWeek on the Tucson Gem and Mineral show. It was an incredible experience being there and shooting this project. Upon my return to LA, I felt like my brain was going to explode with information about minerals. It was as if I had been abducted by mineral obsessed aliens, brainwashed and returned to earth. The story came out on Friday and brought me back to reality. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. It's feels especially sweet as I pitched the story idea and carried it out to it's final product. More images are on my site here. And Bloomberg BW's link here.

An outtake from a shoot with legendary songwriter Neil Sedaka and his son Marc for the Relative Values page in the Sunday Times of London.
I have a feature out in the current issue (Sept. 22) of the New York Times Magazine. It's an article about a start up company called The Audience. I got to shoot Madison Pettis' Sweet 16 Birthday Party. Read the full article here.
Could not be more excited/thankful/proud/happy that this feature is out today in the New York Times Magazine. A million thank yous @amykellner

Iris in Mt. Shasta CA. Sept 2, 2014.
I just got back from an amazing month long road trip through California, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. I finished it with 5 days of shooting in Mount Shasta with my friend and fellow photographer Jenny Hueston. Here's a picture of her as we were setting out in the morning to shoot pictures.
I shot a Lobster Roll Festival this week for Time Out. I pitched the story because Lobster Rolls are my favorite food on earth. I just wanted to be in a situation where I could eat them in an unlimited capacity and photograph them at the same time. It was a dream!
