As a young Caribbean woman, I cannot wait to reach that era of my life where I'm in a loose nightie, head shaved, hair dyed a bright color, no motherfucking bra on, just out in town running errands because I don't give a fuck anymore. I've reached that stage in life where I do not give a fuck.

Life is way too short to care about what people think. Do you want to wear that outfit? Wear the outfit. You want to do that silly, fun, creative makeup look, but you're scared to go outside because you're gonna get judged? Just wear the makeup look and go outside. At the end of the day, half of these people would not show up to your funeral when you die. By the time they look at you and make their judgment, they're gonna forget about you in the next five minutes. I promise you, life is way too short to care about what people think. Imagine the day you finally decide that you would stop caring about what people think and you would finally just express yourself creatively, that's the day you die. So you just wasted your whole life, but the one day you decided to be like, hey, I don't care about what anybody thinks today, you die. And that's exactly how life is. Way too short to give two shits about what the other person thinks about your shoes, your shirt, your capris, your hair. Way too short.

This is the third time for the day that I've cried. And honestly, I just think that my period is on her way because why the fuck am I sitting down on the toilet trying to take a shit in peace and all of a sudden, now I'm flushing the toilet, tears running down my face, snot running down my nose, like, girl, I recently got my lashes done. I can't, I literally just can't. Oh my God.

No man ever seems to match my energy. It's like I can never truly be myself around them. I can't make the same jokes I would make. I can't do the same little silly actions. It's weird. But who needs men anyways? Fucking bitches.

It’s actually hilarious how men will drop a girl so fast the moment their friend group doesn’t approve. One comment. One “eh… she’s not that pretty.” And suddenly he’s acting like he NEVER knew you. Different tone. Different energy. Different personality. And you know what really gets me? The double standard. Women get dragged to hell and back for being “pick me’s” but men don’t get half the heat for doing the exact same thing. To be honest… men are some of the biggest pick me’s I’ve ever seen. Fully outsourcing their opinions to their friends like their boys are their sugar daddies or something. If daddy doesn’t approve, the relationship is over. MIND YOU, in women’s group chats, we’ll talk mad shit about the man, turn his face into stickers etc and still stay.😂😂 If your attraction disappears the second another man (dada) questions it, then you never liked her. And that’s the real tea.

Life is too short. Life is way too short to be worrying about how people think of you. It's just way too short to be living your life in misery because you're embarrassed to wear something that you like because you're scared of the reaction of others. You only get one vessel. Once you close your eyes, that's it. They're putting you six feet underground. So why not go out knowing that you lived your life to the fullest, knowing that you loved yourself, knowing that you surrounded yourself with people who equally loved you, knowing that you did something that you love, knowing that you helped people, knowing that you didn't have to confine to anybody and switch up your style or anything about you just so somebody could like you. Life is too short for all of that bullshit. It's too short to be insecure.

Honestly I DESPISE how the second a Black woman has muscles or strong features people start with the whole “you look like a man” thing. Like??? God forbid a woman works out or plays a sport without being called “biological man” like y’all sound weird actually. And the way they ONLY do it to Black women is so transparent 😭 like be serious… maybe you’re just mad she looks stronger than you?? Okay. Thanks. Next.

So I saw this man do a speech and he said women must earn less than men because they're weaker, they're less intelligent, they're smaller. And my genuine question for men like this, aren't we all human at the end of the day? Don't we all bleed red at the end of the day? Why do we have to fight for equality due to our gender?…Silence? Why? Why do you hate the person that made you? Mind you, a woman had to carry you for nine months and push you out of her vagina and you have the nerve to stand up here at your big age and say something like that? Disturbing and disgusting. I would never understand why men like that would believe that women are less than, they're less intelligent, they're weaker, they're smaller, just because of their gender. And I would completely never understand that because that just shows me how much of an idiot you are. And you're the small one. And it's the truth. I don't know how many more decades we have to spend fighting for equality because at the end of the day we're all humans, we all bleed red. Why are we doing this? Why do we have to fight for equal pay? Why do we have to fight for equal rights just because of our gender? Why?

Rant:

I will never understand how some boys can bully girls just because they don’t find them attractive. Like… be serious. At the end of the day, we all bleed red. You don’t bleed blue, I don’t bleed yellow, we’re all human. Treating someone like they’re less than you just because you don’t like their face is actually disgusting.

And then you hear people talk about the “male loneliness epidemic.” Kiss my ass. Half of that “epidemic” is caused by their own behavior. How do you tear down girls for spite, call them ugly, mock their insecurities, and then expect to magically end up with a “good woman”? Make it make sense.

If you bully women, disrespect women, or treat women like they’re disposable just because they’re not your type… don’t be surprised when the women you do find attractive want nothing to do with you. Because if that’s how you treat other girls, why would I assume you’d treat me any better?

This so-called loneliness epidemic isn’t some mystery. Over the years, women raised their standards. We learned we don’t need to settle for bullies, cheaters, manipulators, or grown boys with no emotional maturity. We’d rather be alone than entertain somebody who treats women like trash.

That’s not our problem to fix.

Because I’m watching this, and I’m seeing the pattern:

Women saying:

“Oh, well now that I’m married I can’t do this because my husband”

BABE. Why are you letting a man hold you back?

Haven’t women already spent generations fighting that fight?

We’re still fighting for girls’ education in some parts of the world and you mean to tell me a man with a ring is gonna tell you to stop learning?

No. Absolutely not.

If a man says:

“Once you’re married, you can’t further your education.”

Say it with me:

WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?

I will get that degree.

I will chase that dream.

I will educate myself until I see the hills if I feel like it.

Marriage is not a cage.

A ring is not a muzzle.

And a husband is NOT a ceiling.

If anything, he should be clapping the loudest when you succeed.

Marriage should not shrink you.

Marriage should not silence you.

And marriage should NEVER stop you from growing.

If it does?

Okay, real talk. Society loves to say, ‘women should just say no.’ But look at what happened. A 16-year-old girl turned down a grown man who was hitting on her, and he rammed his car into her and her mother. I looked through the comments, and people said she died. They said the videos were on Instagram, and that he broke her in half. Just say no, right?

This is the world we live in, a world where it’s scary to be a woman. You tell a man no, and suddenly you’re forced to constantly watch your back. You’re terrified that no might be the last word you ever say. You’re scared that the next morning, your name might be on the news.

I remember another situation where a man tried to snap a Black woman’s neck because she turned him down. But he picked the wrong one, because she was in the military. She pinned him down and fought back. And yet, the most heartbreaking part? The Black men standing around didn’t step in to protect her. They only stepped in to help the white man who attacked her.

The same Black men who are supposed to be our protectors stayed silent when that white man harassed her, and they stayed silent when he tried to break her neck.

I love laughing like nothing could possibly be that funny, but I’m just so tickled. And I love people with contagious laughs… like you’re laughing for no reason, and now I’m laughing because you’re laughing, and suddenly I’m about to pee myself because we’re just laughing at each other’s laughter. Now it’s full-on contagious laughter, like oh my goodness 😭.
