So yeah MK1 is dead and I don't give a fuck about any of the New Era lore but since I'm back talking about the Edenian Brothers, here's something that has been in my drafts since... before Khaos Reigns was released, actually...
Something that intrigues me is that Orin mentions that she's from another reality which was destroyed by Havik...
Obviously, this Orin we meet could be some version of Orin among the many Orins who exist across the multiverse *Rasta audibly gags* buuuuuuuut it made me wonder about the possibility of Taven and Orin being alter-ego of Daegon and Caro from another universe.
Notice how Daegon and Caro exist in Liu's era. Rain even mentions that Daegon is indeed his half-brother but why doesn't he mention Taven? Why doesn't anyone bring up Taven??? If Rain knows Daegon and knows that he is his half-brother, then surely he should know about Taven as well.
It might sound super farfetched, especially coming from someone who dislikes the MK multiverse, but it sounds like something NRS would do in an attempt to rewrite the edenian brothers. In one reality, Argus and Delia have Daegon, in another, they have Taven. It's admittedly something that would work better if they had originally been twins... Still, they mirror each other with their dragon tattoos, so...
It also begs the question of why Liu Kang would choose to erase Taven from his timeline and not the brother who turned evil... Although given the crap Liu Kang came up with for his timeline (Tarkat disease...) would it really surprise me? Nope. Anyway, I literally have no idea where I'm going with this. I don't like the multiverse. I would obviously rather have Taven and Daegon being brothers like they've always been but Dominic scares me so I guess I always imagine the wildest shit before he can in order to prepare and protect my sanity.
