Spiked heels make a percussive metronome beat as the gem strides with purpose, heading for the main chamber of the ancient research facility. She is frankly surprised humans hadn’t gone digging into places they didn’t belong -- the alarms don’t seem to have been set off even after thousands of years, nor have any of the defenses been activated. 

Perhaps these beings have at least some intelligence in their empty skulls.

Turning a corner, one clawed finger punches in the access code and the doors in front of her glide open, revealing the center of her research -- a forced fusion. The cluster is a wretched thing, all mixed colors and sprawling limbs -- but it is hers, and it is progress.

One hand extends, elongated middle finger humming with electricity, and as soon as the tip of her claw makes contact with the cluster it recoils, yellow veins of light spreading across its surface before it shatters, sending shards of gems flying in a burst of colors.

“....well. It’s a start, at least. They’re able to form a solid, cohesive body now. Far better than previous attempts-- ...?”

She turns as footsteps sound behind her, bristling.

“....who’s there? Show yourself.”
