So it’s finally out! Miss Americana is on Netflix and I’m really excited for you to see it. I want to thank Lana Wilson for her endless curiosity and for wanting to make this film. Billie Eilish is now getting the same hate Taylor got. Because she’s young, successful, an artist. People love to hate on things women do because we’re seen as less than. You don’t have to like Billie’s music, but don’t belittle her accomplishments. She’s an amazing musician, and she deserved her award. The categories Taylor was in were tough ones to beat. And just as hating Taylor isn’t a personality trait, hating on Billie Eilish is also not a personality trait. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
