Yeah, had her got rid of the actual memories of my time with bal, and better able to protect you and our friends

Ilia frowns, "Did she... tell you anything else?"

… she told me you willingly and purposefully forgot me…

"Ryu, I'm sorry... but I found out why my immortality and invincibility has been fluctuating. I found out what was responsible."

What is it?

"You... specifically my love for you. It makes me feel vulnerable, and that state of mind apparently affects my body as well."

Well, fuck. That explains some things… I wonder if it works on me? I mean, i don’t feel any weaker when around you, and frankly the only reason I keep any guard up around you is because i don’t want anything to hurt you.

"I think it has the opposite reaction... you feel weak mentally when I'm not around. Just look at what you tried to do after snapping at everyone."

… you have a point… you are my rock ili, without you I don’t have much left to lose… i don’t know what my life would be like without you… heh, kinda funny how I simultaneously make you weak, yet also the single most powerful thing alive

But in all seriousness, you really are the most dangerous being in existence, after all you have my heart. I’d do anything to make you happy, and if the gods themselves so much as think of doing anything to hurt you or make you sad I’d kill them. In all honesty, you’re literally the only thing that could stop me if I ever lose control.

"And you losing control is what convinced me to return..."

… yeah. And just hearing you made me regain control before Alduin actually did anything. I bet it was kinda funny seeing him confused when I gained enough control to start fighting myself

"Funny? I was terrified I'd lose you."

… I thought I did lose you, and when I heard you, the real you, while alduin was in control I was terrified he would hurt you. He was going to slice you with claws but I managed to start taking back control starting with my hands… I would rather let Molag Bal, Hermaus Mora, and Alduin torture me however they want than let anything happen to you, and even more so now that I’ve failed to protect you three times…

"Ryu, do you know what all three times you failed to protect me have in common?"

Still, i don’t want to fail you again… Once all this is over, we’re going on a vacation. Somewhere tropical, with some good drinks and food. We’ll get a house on the beach, invite our friends, and one day we’ll drink until we black out and wake up with matching ass tattoos in a bathtub with a shark

"Ryu, I hate to burst your bubble, but we're dealing with people on the same level as us... there's a chance we may not make it out of this alive."

That’s why I’m making plans, so we have something to look forward to after we win. I won’t let them kill any more of our friends, or you. *She starts getting up* I’m no longer going to hold back on them.

"Ryu, they've gotten stronger... you won't be able to just use your powers to destroy them. My battle with Maven would've ended differently if that would've worked."

I know they’ve gotten stronger. That said, i also know a bit about how their powers work, and i now have memories of another me, one that hermaus never controlled. That, and I do have one more secret that i never told you. Remember how I said i have 9 seals holding back my full power?

"Do you think they weren't given something similar? Ryu, your only advantage is those new memories and your experience with the powers."

Ili, those 9 seals only release a total of 10% of my full power. I have one more, and once it’s released I become strong enough to destroy the entire universe countless times over. However, once it’s released my body starts changing. *She shows her her hand, which now looks like it’s a hole into space* I become one with the void when I have access to my full power, though thankfully i still keep my mind. I also learned how Mavin’s immortality works to an extent when sibbi first attacked us, I was draining his powers and immortality before Ruby and the other you stopped me. I know it’s going to be dangerous, and i don’t want to have to release that last seal, which is why I want you have the one thing that can take me out of commission for a while in case the worst happens. If I start losing myself, I want you to be the one that stops me.

*she puts a old blood stained sword in ilia’s hand, the last blade Lydia ever saw* honestly, I’m terrified of what’s coming ilia, so if something happens to me, and mavin is about to win, use this sword to stab me through the heart or to cut off my head. In normal hands that would render me unconscious for at least a week, in yours, you’ll likely gain my powers to add on top of your own, permanently, and I’d never be able to be separated from you.

"Ryu... I'm not sure I have the strength to do that to you. I know I was given these powers for that exact purpose, but I've never wanted to hurt you before."

I know, but if it comes down to it, i would rather it be someone i love that takes me out. I trust you with it, because I know that if anyone could handle it, it would be you. Besides, if you do it, then i would always be with you

*She smiles sadly* I’m not even sure that’s possible, their souls were no where in oblivion and even if they were, I’m not even sure my soul would go. That, and if it means saving those precious to me, I’d willingly forsake my soul.
