Silence was loud, it was a loudness that Denzel was used to though. Blinking slowly, the young boys eyes trailed to the other, then away again. What solution was there? The same solution he had seen so many take. A pathway out of life that they thought would end all suffering. Denzel, had contemplated it more than once, yet his fear was…that it wasn’t the end. That even death wouldn’t stop this suffering. 

“To return to the life stream.” It was a nicer way of saying it. Denzel, for all of his jadedness, had tact for a young boy. It was easier than the word ‘dying.’ A shrug of his shoulders, “I mean, you don’t have to lie to not tell the truth.” He pointed out, sure, leaving out information wasn’t exactly a lie, but it wasn’t the truth, was it?

Was that so terrible a solution? Yazoo didn’t ask.

“Everything returns to the Lifestream eventually,” he countered, and that was the truth as far as he knew it. “Besides. Don’t you want to be useful to someone?” Was that not their purpose, all of them, to be useful and used for the greater good?

Chalcedony, Onyx, Sapphire

Chalcedony: Yazoo has no allies. Even when he has allies, or friends, or companions, or whoever, he doesn’t think of them and isn’t the type to reach out often, if at all. It’s not that he doesn’t care, though that’s definitely a decent assumption to make, it’s that he’s always only had himself and his brothers. He’s gotten so used to being part of a trio or alone.

Onyx: He has a tendency to mirror the way others treat him back at them, so any hostility would be returned in kind.

Sapphire: His brothers make him happiest, particularly Loz; he’s always had more of a connection to Loz than Kadaj. Riding a bike way too fast gives him a thrill; he likes the speed and the feeling of freedom and flying. A pile of blankets to nest in is his favorite thing in the world. Fuzzy socks that he can wiggle his toes in.

Agate: What or who will your muse protect with their life? ; Kyanite: What is their temper like? ((For reasons.))

Agate: Do I really need to say who Yazoo would protect with his life? Loz and Kadaj, hands down. Sephiroth, as well, and sometimes Cloud. Those are the defaults. From there, it depends on the type of relationship he has with someone, if he likes them or not, if they’re nice to him or not.

Kyanite: Yazoo’s temper is quiet. Very quiet. Then it explodes, an outburst of usually physical violence. He isn’t a loud person, but he is a violent one. It doesn’t last long, his temper burning itself out quickly. It’s very rare that he will yell; his type of yelling is a sharp, barking, harsh tone.

All he knows is that he has Yazoo.

That’s really all he needs, even if they’re both a little lost without Kadaj pushing them on and yelling.

But that’s the heart of the matter, isn’t it? 

Kadaj is gone, and niisan doesn’t want them. Nobody wants them but them.

“….I’m hungry,” he says at last.

Neither know the answer; does anyone in the world know?

How strange it feels. There is no Kadaj. They aren’t puppets anymore. But are they people? Does it matter?

“We should find something to eat, then,” Yazoo replies, yet makes no move at all to get up or to separate himself from all he has left in the world.

Peridot: Are they open to new growth and change in any way, or are they resistant to it?

It depends entirely on the company Yazoo is keeping.

If he’s on his own, he does tend to be open to it, though also somewhat reluctant. He’s a curious sort who enjoys learning and exploring new things. He can be a bit of a blank slate, easily learning from those around him

If Yazoo is with Kadaj or Sephiroth, however, no, he isn’t open to growth or change. Sephiroth and Kadaj have a tendency to wipe out any little shred of self he has.

“I’m not sure Mother has the same idea of solution as we do.” Death was a solution…but it wasn’t one that was going to actually solve anything. They would all return to the life stream in the end one way or another though, blue eye’s drift from the older one, to the side, contemplation painted across his face. 

In the end it’s the same outcome. Death now or death later. Lots of people have died. Everyone dies. Denzel wasn’t even so sure why he was kind of scared of it, and yet, seemingly long resigned to it. “I don’t believe anyone, everyone lies.” 

That did seize upon his curiosity; did Denzel know what he did not? Or did the boy speak only from some sort of experience that they did not share?

“What solution do you believe Mother provides? A better future without all of this pain and misery?” Yazoo questioned, now fully engaged in this odd bit of conversation. It was wrong, of course; Kadaj had said that the children were nothing except the same as they, puppets who would only follow the lure of promised relief.

“Kadaj doesn’t lie. He’s Kadaj. Mother doesn’t lie, either. Does the blonde one lie?”
