Though Genesis often woke in the early morning, it did not mean he was particularly sweet about it. He looked moody and offered short vocalisations rather than use his words. When he first felt Lazard's weight shift on the bed he complained with a short groan and rolled away. It was his way of demanding more beauty sleep, schedules be damned. When he heard a sound of amusement from behind, he turned his head and peered with a suspicious crescent moon gaze. He almost shifted himself further away on the bed, though his head was still shoved at the edge Lazard's pillow. He wasn't moody enough to completely shift into the territory of the other shit pillow quite yet. He made a song and a show of heaving a great big breath while he wrapped himself in a stubborn curl. Honestly, he thought Lazard was going to leave him in his bed while he got ready for a demanding day and he was more than fine with spending his morning like an unmotivated housecat. Instead Genesis felt another shift on the bed, followed by the honeyed warmth of becoming the little spoon in a cuddle he absolutely did not deserve. His hands sought out Lazard, holding onto his arms as he subtly relaxed back. For a moment he thought it was a trap. A damn good one too, he didn't complain at all when he felt his lover's lips press to his cheek. Lazard could have asked him to come into the office early with him and he would have agreed. "I'll take a day off." "Bullshit." Genesis replied quick and easy. A smile crept onto his face and he turned his head, sleepily seeking Lazard's gaze. "... really?"
"Yeah," Lazard murmured, kissing his temple. It wasn't unheard of, but he strongly suspected there would be some brows raised about him, at best, working from home. "I'll stay home so long as you're here."
Maybe, when Genesis inevitably went out, Lazard would suit up and head in and be responsible. But right now he was very tired from processing their latest crop of newbies, the war in general, too many late nights and some very... intense board meetings.
Frankly, he could use the rest.
Lazard curled around Genesis and nuzzled the juncture between shoulder and neck. "Stay with me a while?"
He knew, honestly, Genesis would pounce on the opportunity, but still wasn't where he'd blankly assume on his time. Not just because he was a lot little tired.
